  1. Heard of BRIXMIS? SOXMIS was the Soviet equivalent. After ww2 the Comanders in Chief and the Red Army Commander in Chiefs started a liasion/ obsever organisation where by the Allies roamed around East Germany 'Under Diplomatic Protection', that became BRIXMIS and the Soviet's could roam aronud West Germany. The idea was to 'Develop friendship and trust', the result was 40 odd years of quietlly caried on mayhem. I'd recommend BRIXMIS by Tony Gerharty, half the exploits if you put in fiction , you'd never belive it.
  2. Thanks for that! Now have to figure wether it is the genuine articale or not.
  3. Consulting the brains trust. I've aquired a mystery wrist watch that fits the description of a Germn WW2 issue wrist watch. The make is Swiss Recta. There s no letter before the serial number 552877, but inside the watch case are some odd markings . A tombstone shape with the letters CB properly engraved then ROST FREI STANL BODEN. Under that faintly scratched are a 9 with a line underneath then 11 an upside down arrow 4 also RED/57 10/2/60 Any help much appreciated. The winder is missing but the movment still works. The case is 33.9 mm wide, black face with radium hands small second face at bottom, fixed bars on case.

  18. Actually Gentelman, and Ldies, as far a Social Media goes. Who else but HMVF would have us? The smell of burnt gear oil and grinding spatter does tend to permeate.
