  1. Bl**dy Hell! What are you lot on?:-D
  2. My ex's first flight was from Stanstead to Jersey. She kept looking at every type of aircraft such as F27's and 737's saying 'is that the type we are going on?' Then we walked out and the Antanov was on the pavement, she looked at it and said 'not that one is it?' I just said no, then we walked behind the Antanov , and the Short 360 was there. Her face, priceless! STOL capability, and proved it.

Did that once. When the Long Wheelbase 109 Safari Land Rover fell off the jack narrowly missing my head. I had a VERY large Revelation!
  4. What ! See out of it! That would take all the fun away! :-D I would put LARGE mirrors on her for road use though.
  5. She was radflushed just before Andy got her. The clutch was replaced and the brake master rebuilt by Pastparts at the same time. It was partly doing it made Phil decide he was getting to old for all that. :-D

I have a sloped cul de sac outside the flat. Came home one day to find a Mobile Mechanic had a car with two wheels on the kerb, and a trolley jack under the other side completly jack uped, while he was under it. Fortunatley I'd turned in slow or would have taken the jack handle out as it was horizontal into the road. The car was also sloping back to front. He didn't appreciate my comments on his sanity.
  7. As for the gallon of petrol. I remarked to the young women behind the Tesco petrol ststion counter I remember petrol at 35p a gallon. She looked puzzled and said 'How many gallons in a liter?'.
  8. My twopence, or £2.50 worth. Mossberg built the MB42a rifle for British Army training in .22 rimfire, supplied under Lease Lend at £2 10 shillings each. Parke Hale then put sights on them at £3.00 per pice. Last batch supplied 21,000 in February 1941. I know because that's the batch mine came over in.
  9. Go for the Harrier! Dosen't need a runway! :-D
  10. Are we talking about 'Official' Stens or Black market? :-D Not suprised at Isralie marked magazines. Umpteen where made along with ammunition, under a British Military Laundary. The place is now a museum. The most complex thing about a Sten is rifiling the barrel.
  11. This place are very useful for various original oils. http://ryeoil.co.uk/lubricants/agricultural-oils
  12. Trouble is , throw a stick in any direction around there and you'll find something intresting. Will you have enough time? :-D
  13. Depends on your point of view. He had us, including the Police, in stiches in Whitehall! The look on a young womans face when an Abbot screeched to a halt behind her Astra will make me smile for ever.
  14. Come round to Ver Sur Mer! The kettle will be on if nothing else. There is also a nice little musuem in the town.
