  1. Middle right and middle left of the pic, Chev 4x4, not long enough to be a GM 6x6

  5. The turretless Stuarts around at this time were probably from Pounds yard, and were fitted with fake turrets for the film "Dirty Dozen" Tony Oliver has one in his "History on wheels museum"
  6. Its already been criticised on G503 forum, shiny M38, appears to have no handbrake, none of its original 24volt electrics...nice paintjob otherwise
  7. Should have realised it was a Dosco, built in UK by a subsiduary of Hawker Siddeley, Rover V8 ZF5spd box, the rest was basically Volvo made under licence, various protypes made inc 6x6 but it never went into production
  8. Volvo C303 looks if its RHD Volvo marketed civvy models here but it didnt catch on, I owned a RHD hardtop version years ago
  9. Take the Docklands light rail from Excel across (under) the river to Greenwich, quite an experience if you get the front seat of a driverless train! see the Maritime museum, magnificent buildings of the former Naval college, Grenwich observatory, Cutty Sark restoration, plenty to see for a few hours

  16. I rescued this Guy quad back in the early 1980's it was in a bit a state then, its had numerous hopefull owners since and at last its being restored
  17. Powdercoating is fine for hot rods and museum piece classic cars but NOT for a flexible Willys chassis, it will soon crack, or chip, water then penertrates under it, back to rusty metal again and have to strip it all off, they were originally painted with red oxide and survived 65 years of abuse why change it?
  18. John Couzens monster truck was a military Commer 4x4 chassis with LR body, the yellow vehicle was a much hyped coil sprung landrover with a Dutton sports car body, don't remember it actually ever finishing an event, the six wheel RR was one of Alvin Smiths creations
  19. It was a live broadcast from Hungry hill near Aldershot, managed to get in to watch it, was good fun, Landrover were there one year with an experimental 88" powered with a Buick V6 engine!
  20. Wartime pic of an MTB with Jeep lashed to deck
  21. Cat you might as well show the rest of the event with my very gracefull roll, it just fell over, only 30 secs lost, it was a fairly common experience, it won the championship twice though
