  1. Ah yes, what a result, I shall now go and buy a Lottery ticket perhaps luck is coming my way! Clues were in the rear door , and the insides were painted black , as if they were the cupboard insides. rear bulkhead as well er.................................lucky guess after that if I am truthfull. I found one once near me but didn't appreciate its value or rareness, so I bid him far too low. By the time I had researched it the Guy had sold it for £30 more than I had bid...........:-(
  2. Did it have a Carawagon body fitted earlier?
  3. Could be a one tonner but the tyres would be the wrong size, but its possible.Only a very few were exported. Very intriguing though! Left hand drive too
  4. There won't be any original vehicles in that case!
  5. Just seen Chris and I understand you haven't got it yet after all, if you haven't found a lorry to collect it I can recommend one from Norfolk if you need it.
  6. Glad you got it at last, that one is a great truck and I will see you around in it. Welcome to HMVF as well !
  7. I bought one of these last year, it turned out to be a smooth bore and was able to be on my shotgun cert, nice gun too.:cheesy:
  8. Would this have been Tekloid? Not sure of the spelling but this was a coach enamel I used in the 70's that left no brushmarks, did my Mini as well as other vehicles!
  9. A great book in your case is 'The Wartime Jeep in British Service' by Gavin Birch ISBN 0-9534470-9-X Lots and lots of images, 224 pages and about £20 quid.
  10. Well it was easy for me, Agreed Valuation. They requested 6 pictures and these were supplied, I now know that they are aware of what they have insured and I know that it is insured for enough. Yes it has cost a little bit more, but I am protected if anything goes wrong...................I Hope:cheesy:
  11. Its back on Ebay again, http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/141204584801?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 I quite fancy it, but it could be problematic if it doesn't work.No doubt someone could fix it.
  12. Very tempted .....but sadly no DAC ...........yet! Looks nice though
  13. Very nice Adrian, early Christmas ?:-)
  14. Wish I could say its for a Dingo.........then I could pester you to sell it to me. I have never seen one like that though , in fact I have never seen one fitted at all. Good luck with your search
  15. Well its each to their own, as the Owner its completely up to you, you won't be wrong either way but you could have the Army number underneath and take the modern plates off at shows.
  16. Yes as I said , that would be my preferred route, lovely looking Jeep too. well done
  17. I think the plate is part of its history. first registration after Military ownership. Pretty unusual I think. I am not so sure I would obtain a new number. I think it would look better with a Black/ silver numberplate though.
  18. I can put you in touch with the engine sides and a bonnet for an OY if you need them.
  19. A scrapyard in Norfolk cut up a Conqueror up about five years ago and when the gas axe cut through the barrell it cut through a drill round stuck in there, that caused a lot of confusion for a while and the Police and Bomb Squad were called!
  20. Failing that , go to your local Agricultural dealer, they will have it in stock and can fit the ends too.
  21. 15 quid each, I got 2. Good investment!:-)
