  1. Hello Neil. That photo was indeed taken at Firepower 07.Who,s was this one parked next to our Ferret at this years show??. Another vehicle that i would have loved to have owned. But put off by the wheel station, and bevel box issues.John Dews has one in at the moment for complete restoration. Its going to be in the region of £20 grand. It will end up being a swimmer,as all the dowty jets are there and most of the swim equipment.
  2. Just gone through my photo collection. And here it was in happier times...................
  3. I wonder where they have all been hiding?.
  4. Well here we go then... Here is my old 101 Ambulance.... And this was it being loaded on the flatbed.Prior to its delivery to its new owner in Holland And the 101 i have owned for 10 years.Maintained and looked after by Catweazle
  5. Well!.I have tried for three days now in trying contact the organiser via e-mails and calls, and had no luck contacting him.Going to give this one a miss now.
  6. The British were designing bullpup weapons as early as the late 40,s with the EM-1.It fired a 4.85mm cartridge i believe. The predessesor to todays much maligned SA80 series of rifles. There is,or was one on display at the Armouries museum in Leeds.Heckler And Koch(then owned by BAE ordanance) were assigned with the modification work on the SA80A2.But problems still persist, but no where near to the extent with the original SA80.
  7. Well you can put me down again. But just a question. Why couldnt you get the bank holiday weekend and make a three day event of it.
  8. Is on its way.It looks like there will be a L322 Range Rover Vogue joining the family.I held out as long as possible. But the other half misses the previous RR,and doesnt find the V8 90 comfortable enough.Does for me though.Get the Autologic ready.
  9. As previously mentioned by the Heliops chap.A move to the bank holiday weekend would be a good idea.It would be of benefit to all those that have been snubbed by the organisers of M.O.What done it for me,was the relaxed atomosphere, and none of that health and safety b****cks, that has ruined many a good show.i can see great potential here.
  10. What a nice post.Especially the last line.......My Dad, my hero, 1916 - 2003 RIP[/font]
  11. My father was only 10 at the outbreak of war in 1939.But spent all his young years working on the coal yards in edgeware. He expieranced the Blitz and had a first hand eye witness account of the infamous shooting down of the dornier bomber over victoria during the Battle Of Britain. He then went on to see the arrival of the V1,s.He,s like a walking After The Battle magazine. As i can take him around his old stomping ground of Kennington, and he can still point out to me what happened in certain areas, and what those areas were like in the war.His brother on the other hand was in the T.A at the outbreak of war,and served with the Kings Royal Rifles, seeing action at El-Alamain,Italy,and finally Germany. He brought a lot of German Memrobilia home after the war, including Lugers, and Walthers,German helmets and Bayonets.I have a Helmet captured off a Soldier at Gernoa in Italy, and there is some film of him from The World At War series, where he was taking prisoners at the side of the road in Austria.
  12. That looks a nice tidy example.Join the club........
  13. Dont worry mate.I didnt win a prize either.Come to think of it,i never do.
  14. Best time to go there is when Fleet Week is being held.A lot of Navy stuff head in to port, including some stuff from the Royal Navy. Most memorable moment for me was being up in the observation floor of one of the twin towers and watching as two F14,s flew below us up the Hudson.Strange looking down on two jets flying by,rather than looking up.
  15. Been there a few times. It really puts it in to perspective how big those American carriers are to those piddly commando carriers we have. And the Intrepid is small in comparrison to the Reagan,Nimitz,Eisenhower class carrier.B.t.w is the F16 still hanging from the cafeteria ceiling over the tables??.
  16. Crossing Tower Bridge in style to launch there new world tour. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/7592440.stm

  20. Well, not long got in,after packing every thing away.Had a really good weekend. The kids were a bit taxing, both in patience and pocket, but all enjoyed it.A nice relaxed atmosphere.Reminded me a bit like one of the early Beltrings, but mayhem had more vehicles.I can see this event having huge potential, and everyone i spoke to said they would be back next year.Well done to mark and the team. And heres to next year:thumbsup:
  21. Well,Dodge is all packed, and Jeep is ready to go.See you all saturday morning.
