We picked one up last year and been meaning to ask some details. 28in wheels. Mk4B on the rack but can't find much reference. Also RAF stamped? Several other number stampings but don't have clear photos. Sent from my GT-N7100 using Tapatalk

Trying to look up some family history I came across this from the Gloucestershire Regiment Museum: Oxford Carriers, Uijombu 1951

Im not sure how it varied during the war but I used this stuff. http://www.shootnscoot.co.uk/shoot-and-scoot-blanco-n03 I only bought 1 bottle and ran a bit short for perfection but I was not using the cleanest of webbing so had to get rid of the previous colours that were showing.

My mistake , I was quite impressed with the coverage. A lot of effort for 10mins or so. Any idea where they got the original footage from? EDIT: Oops looks like what I was replying to was removed.

They had a Brockhouse Corgi in the studio but later in the show they used reproduction Welbikes from Welbike UK (very good repros, can hardly tell the difference). The Welbike is basically far simpler than the corgis which were quite a bit larger and more practical for civilian use.

Its back again! Has been resisted a few times now. Was just reading some trivia on the IMDB about the film The Longest Day. It sates the following: I also found other small references elsewhere on the internet but nothing more. Does anyone else know any more about it, if it happened at all?

Definitely getting there. This afternoon I got the electrics working correctly and also finally got it idling. Next to test riding :shocked: There is a chance I may be going to Normandy but not certain about this yet. Still plenty to do before then!

I bought an album with quite a number of photos of the paras. I believe the listing which I got it from (2 years ago?) said that it was post-war but I was wondering if anyone could give any further information on where and when these photos were taken. Below is only a sample of the photos which includes jump shots, mortar teams, jeeps and a visit from Monty. Thanks

Thanks for clearing this up. I have the contract numbers for the engine and frame. The contract plate is also there but covered in paint. Will probably try to clear that paint this weekend for further confirmation of age. Many thanks to you and everyone else

Thanks all so far, very helpful advice for an annoyingly awkward task. I was going to bring up the same thing as Brooky. When I imported the Welbike from the US it was exempt because it was British Manufacture. I would imaging it would be the same in this case. Just depend whether I have to contact NOVA anyway or just continue passed it.

Hi All Sorry if this has been asked before. I have searched and found similar topics but none that focus on the whole of my problem. I am starting to think about registering my 1940 BSA WM20 but have a few problems. It has never been registered in the UK before and therefore has no registration documentation (at all). I do have two letters from The Vintage Motorcycle Club LTD which confirms the engine and frame dates but bold capital letters state on the letter that it should not be used as certificate of dating. I just need to know where to start as the DVLA website isn't the most clear and I don't know where I can get a proof of age that can be used for a certificate of dating. Hope you can help Many thanks.

Been having some trouble trying to get it idling so decided to give that a break for now and try and sort out the wiring. At the moment the Tail light (inc. brake light) works but constantly flickers when running. The headlamp doesn't work at all (have checked the bulb). Looking at the wiring to the switch I can't seem to make any sense of it in relation to any wiring diagram. It seems to be a mix up of two different wiring diagrams I have seen. Just deciding whether to start from scratch or try to amend something.

I was in Ipswich WH Smiths on Tuesday I think and I believe they had several of them still.

Cracking photos. a unique in-depth view into their life there. I've got one of my relatives First World War photo albums hidden away with some interesting pics of the early tanks etc. Will have to scan some in at some point. Thanks for posting!
