  1. Yes taking plenty of photos for future reference. Refacbricating the cab is going to be interesting as what I have is not much to go by. Steering wheel nut was already mostly undone so came off with very little effort at all. Shame the wheel itself is pretty shot. Sent from my E5823 using Tapatalk
  2. Also thanks to Adrian for the opportunity to get some Bofors tools Sent from my E5823 using Tapatalk
  3. Work has started! Decided to spend a day getting the majority of the cab off before the bad weather sets in, also gives me something to do in the evenings as work on the Gipsy is becoming more light and weather dependent. Surprisingly a lot of the bolts came undone with an oily residue on the thread which is promising. Lots of little parts to store now but at least they wont spoil.
  4. Might give some of this stuff a go: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BRITISH-STANDARD-381C-499-CELLULOSE-PAINT-SERVICE-BROWN-2-5L-/370856437126?hash=item5658c42586:g:HV8AAOxyhtpR5~IY Or some from a similar seller on Ebay Has anyone used them before to know if they are any good? Need to repaint the Welbike and several other bits so may get more to keep it the same batch
  5. Need to repaint my bike soon so glad this subject came up! Would Service Brown be suitable? Or is it a different shade?
  6. Started work on the fiberglass top The inside had been filled with a gritty plaster like paint, most of which came off with a power wash. Just need to let it dry enough so I can rub it down further and give it a coat of primer. Also stripped one of the doors right down to bare metal and primed.
  7. Windscreen and wings given a coat of paint and trial fitted. Cleaned up the tank and found yet more holes
  8. Keep forgetting to update this page Lots of little bits done It runs, didnt have the rad in so only ran it for a couple of seconds but mean im on the way up Rad now fitted, just need a couple more hoses Lots of little bits cleaned up, painted and fitted Bad news with the fuel tank, had a pinhole leak so gave it all a good clean up and the hole easily became bigger and a crack is visible alongside it so am debating with myself the next best step. Cut the rust out of the outer wings and welded in new pieces, now in primer Windscreen in primer (bottom section is all bodges up but there is none of the original screen left there!) Have another windscreen I can work on over the winter but this will do for the time being. Fuel tank at the moment, note the crack emerging on the right:
  9. I think it was something like Investment Gun Company, or something along those lines!:nut:
  10. Been a long time since I updated this. Done lots but main bit was the wing repairs now sorted, painted up and trial fitted.
  11. Mine is not quite the same, definitely smaller and one end comes out further. will try to get some better photos when i use it at Headcorn this weekend!
  12. Would be interested in taking the BSA M20 down Just need to think about the best way of getting it down
  13. Just managed to bodge up some poles for mine. I doesn't seem to look like any others pictured here. One end goes put quite a bit further and it looks lower down. Unfortunately I didn't take any better pictures. Will have to put it up again. Sent from my GT-N7100 using Tapatalk
  14. Thanks for Sharing Wally! Very interesting Strange as this also came with an MVEE test report booklet on the MH6 Hydrolic Excavator.
  15. Cheers! They certainly look like them, just need to find the rangefinder
  16. Hi All Got these a week back, they look military but does anyone know what they could have been for? perhaps for a spotting scope or signalling device
  17. Picked up this rather nice spare parts book the other day It is 1959 dated, I was wondering how long the Churchills and Churchill ARKs were in service for. I'm guessing the ARK was in service for longer?
  18. I believe my C9/B had aero screens being a very early one. But I would imagine they would be the same as the CS8, will have a measure up tonight on the off chance
  19. Hi All I am trying to put a battledress to represent the Gloucestershire Regiment in korea as my Grandad served with them there. The patches I have which he had during service were the Gloucestershire Titles, Shield shaped commonwealth patch and the 29th infantry brigade patch. I was wondering how these would be worn. I have seen images of the 29th patch on both the right and left arm plus the same goes with the commonwealth patch but were these worn together (e.g. 29th patch on the right and commonwealth on the left) or were they never worn together? I have been in contact with the Gloucestershire Regiment museum and they are not sure and cannot find any official documentation. Just wondering if anyone knows how they would have been worn. Will try to get a picture up of the patches is needed Many thanks in advance!
  20. Thanks all for the info. Certainly different, if anyone is interested in it let me know, if not it will stay in my workshop
  21. Any experts? Picked this up today but is still a bit of a mystery. Guessing something to do with the F95 Aerial Reconnaissance Camera but isn't the 4935 from the NSN would mean it is categorised as "Guided Missile Maintenance, Repair & Checkout Specialist Equipment"? Im sure someone must know!
  22. A few little bits done Picked up a bonnet thanks to a forum member. Needs some work but a fantastic piece to either repair or copy. Also had a brief look at one of the jacks, this one had fallen off the front of the Morris some time ago and the handle has been knocked off at some point. It seems by far to be the worst jack of the lot. With a bit of effort it started to move so sprayed it with a bit of oil and got a good grip on the handle and it started to wind up and down (obviously quite stiff as it is well clogged up with rust. I removed the remains of the handle which came of pretty easily and revealed rather clean and well lubricated insides. I then removed the base to free it up so it will sit better and that all went fairly well and smoothly although I am not going to be doing any more work on the jacks or the Morris itself before the Gipsy is finished.
