Hi All Just picked up my latest purchase, a potential accessory for the Gipsy when it is done. It is a wartime style Coventry Climax pump. These were produced during the war for the fire service but this one has been converted for post-war military service with a repair data plate, convoy lights and military trailer sockets which all appealed more to me than a standard fire service one. Don't know a lot about them especially not in military service so any details would be greatly appreciated! I do not intend to restore it as such but preserve its original condition which still requires some work but I hope to keep most of the original paint.

I think I may have just picked up one of these tents. No poles but in very good condition. Does anyone know where abouts they are marked up? As that would be nice to confirm its origin

Its been a while since I last posted anything on this thread and I didn't want to start the Gipsy till I finished the BSA but more dead ends with that so decided to get some work done of some of the Gipsy bits. Nothing special just stripped and primed some odd bits ready for painting.

Surely this is a 68 pattern smock as the para smocks would have the press-studs and an externally securing flap

you have a point there. Useful thing to have anyway

One I bought has them under all the pocket flaps. Must be a desired thing to do for some reason

Picked this up cheap a few weeks back now. Just wondered weather it was part of a specific vehicle tool kit or was just a generic workshop jack.

Yes I have seen the site. I did email to see if they had any contact details in regard to the wanted section but haven't had a reply. I have been having a few email troubles so it may be that they never received the email so will try again at some point. I read somewhere that XH560 cockpit is in Rayleigh somewhere

The XA903 dial is now back with its original aircraft I am still trying to contact XH560 if anyone has any leads Certain projects mean I am selling more of my collection in order to continue. I am willing to sell several of the dials here to anyone who may be interested. If you are interested let me know.

Hi all Thanks for the comments. I have taken into account the radioactivity Of the dials and don't intend to tamper with any of them. As much as I like the dials I feel that if they are needed for a restoration then I may let them go to a good home. Does anyone happen to know what the Monitor Unit Type H thing is? Hi All I picked up a collection of aircraft dials at the local car boot a week ago now. The person I bought them from doesn't know where they came from but all seem to be from one collection so possibly all of the same aircraft. One has two labels one of which states it came from Vulcan XA903. I believe this Vulcan is currently under restoration in Scotland and had special instruments and modifications to test the Olympus 953 engine. Could these be instruments for this test or from before or after (this dial was removed in the 70's i believe from the label). There is another dial with masking tape around it which states XH560 which is another Vulcan under restoration in Marham I believe. This perhaps scraps the idea of them being the special Olympus test instruments. Anyway can anyone tell from the images below whether the rest are Vulcan dials or just generic post-war dials? I may end up getting in contact with the restorers of XA903 or XH560 but would like to know what the other dials are from first.

Many thanks for the info. I shall continue using it for tools then! Is there a particular manual or booklet that covers military prefixes? Hi All Picked this tin up at the car boot a week ago. Came with several wartime dated chisels and screwdrivers but this seems like it had a more specific use perhaps. Stamped: FA 10950 /|\ 1956 H.S. LTD Also marked: EC./152 and KE. 15746 I don't know all the military prefixes of the time so any help would be appreciated.

Picked up this book with lots of other stuff. I have no real idea whether it is a manual or a book really. Dated 1942.
