  1. The solenoid also needs to go hard over to uncover the jet in the excess fuel device, which is likely to be your problem. Andy
  2. There is some information, including the solenoid adjustment, in the manuals available from the FV430 forum, but you won't find anything there about the excess fuel device I'm afraid. You need EMER Pwr M110 and Pwr M132, which I've never seen. Andy
  3. I don't see that this can be an injector problem or it wouldn't run at all - that's why I asked. It sounds more like failure or maladjustment of the excess fuel device in the FIP that provides extra fuel at low rpm, principally during cranking. Unfortunately I can't find any information as detailed operation of the FIP is covered in an EMER that I've never seen. Andy
  4. It depends on the type fitted, but between 150 and 175 atmospheres according to the manual, in other words between 2250 and 2625 psi. Are you saying that the engine now won't start at all? Andy
  5. I've had a hunt for the MVEE trials reports but they seem to have gone astray when Chertsey closed. Andy
  6. I'd agree with David about the FIP solenoid, it's a pretty standard problem. And as he says, take a look at the FV430 Forum! Andy
  7. I bought one some time ago, it cost more to find a connector than the unit itself! Andy
  8. If you mean WE177s, that's because they couldn't land them in time and they never entered territorial waters anyway! Andy
  9. Clive is your man for anything Orange William, I'm sure he'll be along soon. Out of interest, what is this for? Andy
  10. For info, you can just ignore the self-adhesive. Remove the backing.sheet and glue to the remainder of the old glue layer. Andt
  11. As has been said previously, they'll need proper treatment if they've been in salt water. Holland 1 was originally just recovered and sat outside, I went round her at the time. Not long after, the hull started delaminating like an onion skin. Andy
  12. The link to the "unusual radio setup" seems to redirect back to this thread? Don't get hung up on the registration date. Ex-military vehicles receiving a civilian registration should use the "date of first use", i.e. the date they entered MOD service, not the date they left it. Andy
  13. I got mine to run Windows 95 after a lot of head scratching working out how to get it on the machine. Unfortunately the screen has several defects. :-( Andy
  14. Out of interest, has anyone used vapour blasting? I've seen a place advertising it and wondered how successful it is. Andy
  15. That was certainly an interesting collection! Andy
  16. When my local MVT area asked for clarification back in August, the following was received from Simon Bromley, MVT General Secretary: "I can categorically confirm that for the purposes of the VCRA, the MVT is classed as a re-enactor group. MVT members are therefore members of the “MVT re-enactor group”. So what does this mean in reality? This is a massive question with massive answers but starting with the basic point that the sale of realistic imitation firearms is banned, the MVT can then rely on exemptions from the ban. Firstly, the MVT holds events which are historical re-enactments and we hold public liability insurance for such events. Secondly, the MVT acts out and recreates military scenarios, and once again we hold PLI to cover such events. On this basis, that makes us re-enactors, which in turn, allows dealers to sell our members realistic imitation firearms." Andy
  17. I immediately thought "kites" but I doubt it's that simple! Andy
  18. Be aware, if you aren't already, that there is an existing National Cold War Exhibition at RAF Cosford. Just in case anyone says anything - forewarned is forearmed. I share your pain with planning, I wouldn't have thought that building a barn in an empty field could be so much of a problem. A year and two refusals on, I'm now going through the appeal process. Andy
  19. However, wasn't there something in Windscreen that said the MVT was classed as a re-enactors group for VCR purposes? I'm confused! Andy
  20. Manroy are the UK manufacturer of GPMGs and at one stage they would sell you a de-ac brand new from the factory. Andy
  21. At £2750 I'd be inclined to ask if Manroy are still in the business of making you a de-ac. Andy
  22. I'll let the CVR(T) owners give you an authorative response but note that the driver doesn't need all twelve cores if he only requires intercom access. Andy
  23. Mine came with a set of mounting bars on the top as it had obviously been part of a stacked installation. I made up a 'sandwich' plate to align with a Clansman shock mounting assembly (sorry about the picture quality). Andy
