  1. Well done J & J you've done a bloody corkin' job on gtting the old horse back on its feet so quick... If i wore a hat i'd be doffing it now... per ardua ad astra and all that... This place is is only so good 'cause all of us (under the steady hands at the tiller) have made it so... we've done it before & we'll do it again by jingo "Hey kids we don't need a theatre... we can put the show on right here!"
  2. Yeah or "Titfield Thunderbolt"
  3. wouldn't fancy trying to stop that load in a hurry
  4. I think they're all british bikes most seem to have rod brakes, narrower tyres and bigger straighter frames than the US equivalents. I'd love a vintage american bike but am the wrong shape for the frame... ie short arms 'n' deep pockets! I had a modern beach cruiser that I converted look like like a 40's service bike but decided i liked my pre-war raleigh better!
  5. B*GGER! Should be surrounded by scale ambulances and foamers
  6. Must be handy it having a chainsaw engine so if it crashes it'll cut itsself up into manageable chunks of kindling as it does so good pictures though :tup
  7. Sounds like a "Ruptured Duck" A patch that was issued to US servicemen about to leave the service with an honourable discharge. It could be worn i think for up to 2 months after leaving the service and it also served to let military police know that the man in question was en route home rather than AWOL or deserting
  8. Back in your padded cell?
  9. 1 Spitfire ... any marque they're all lovely 2 Hurricane... magnificent 3 Mosquito... sleek 4 P47 Thunderbolt... agressive looking, purposeful 5 B-17... needs no reason to be here... it just should ;-) 6 Liberator (always looks like a fat goose in flight) 7 Short Stirling... big lump of a thing but more 'masculine' in appearance than the Lancaster 8 FW190 very sleek looking almost stylish 9 Messerschmitt Me 163 Komet (looks cute but dangerous... for all concerned!) 10 JU87... ugly but iconic

  22. Best bit... Getting out of the van at beltring in the company of my brother and some great mates and heading for the stalls with a pocket full o' dosh and a raging thirst for 5 days of silliness... Worst bit... The car blowing up on the way to Bolero, going home straight away via AA and missing the whole thing  although i did manage to sell the remains of the car 2 days ago for a hundred quid less than i paid for it, so swings and roundabouts
