  1. Adrian, Sounds like you are getting into some refined collecting :cool2: instead of that big heavy noisy stuff ! :nut: Rob.................rnixartillery.
  2. What nationality is the Gun and is it Wartime or Postwar ?.................Big difference ! Rob...............rnixartillery.
  3. :clap:well done that man ! ' Well I have quite a few more pieces on my wanted list but I think a couple of them could be 'pipe dreams' excuse the pun. I have been offered two Guns recently that are very special indeed but are BIG BUCKS so unfortunately I will have to move a couple of pieces on to generate funds, storage is also getting a bit short so I am now concentrating on smaller pieces but still British Commonwealth foremost. Rob................rnixartillery.
  4. 4.2's in service. Rob..................rnixartillery.
  5. This is a piece I have been trying to track down for several years now,I have been following several threads on MLU over the years and it was evident the best place to look was in Australia, which I believe is where all the ex-British units ended up although in small numbers. I am looking for any information on these Mobile Base Plates but there seems be be very little available, the original format was on 16" wheel rims the same as the ones used on the Mortar supply trailer and they were later converted onto surplus 8.25/10 6 pdr wheels. I have been told that this type went into service at the very end of WWII but was successful in post war service. From what I can find there is one restored example in the UK which is at Firepower, if there are any more please let me know. I am in the process of gathering the accessories at the moment and just about have it all .The unit is complete with tube but this is under going de-ac work at present. Another rare breed repatriated ! Rob....................rnixartillery
  6. Here is another teaser ! :cool2: Rob...............rnixartillery.
  7. Im a bit technophobic when it comes to our TV but if I can find it I will watch, its good to see our fellow collectors at play and the different variety of vehicles on show.I have made contact with quite a few Guys over there in the past few years so it would be good to catch up one day and meet face to face . How is the best way to join the club ? Rob..................rnixartillery.
  8. Well another long awaited for addition to the collection has finally arrived, had a long day today with a 600 mile round trip collecting the pallet from sunny essex ! Hanno, this is the item I thought you may have an interest in . Rob...................rnixartillery
  9. James , I believe they came out of shoeburyness, there was a major clear out several years ago.I have a couple of carriages here that came from the clear out. The guy you bought them from seemed to have a good 'Contact' :cool2: and bagged quite a bit if gear. Rob...................rnixartillery.
  10. Another pic taken from one of the B.A.T manuals dated 1954,I am posting these pictures because there are not many images on the net ! The only BAT parts I have to sell at the moment are the correct Wheel rims and the hand spike pins..............I think ! :??? Rob..............rnixartillery.
  11. I have just picked up a heap of manuals for the 120mm recoiless rifle range of Anti-Tank weapons,Mobat,Wombat and Conbat. A few interesting pictures if there are any Wombat owners out there ! Rob.................rnixartillery.
  12. Very good point John,it didn't register when I read the article ! :banghead:. Rob.................rnixartillery.
  13. I only see a very poor pole trail not a 15 pounder Gun ,unless they have the rest I very much doubt anything will be done with them. As for sending them to 'Firepower' they have no storage space or money ! :-( Rob..................rnixartillery.
  14. I use this site www.interparcel.com ,tap in the details, pick the best service and away you go ! Rob................rnixartillery.
  15. Just back from a three day trip to collect parts and the Hotchkiss gun so I took some better pics . The gun is an older restoration and has a nice patina so I think I am going to leave it alone.I did some film work with this gun about 6 years ago on a beach and believe it or not I was cleaning sand out of it today from way back then. Rob................rnixartillery.
  16. All British primer covers are Black with the lift tag painted red, this has not changed since WWI.17 pdr primer covers are very scarce so if you have some you are very lucky ! Rob...................rnixartillery.
  17. :rotfl: Rob...............rnixartillery.
  18. Peter, Well that makes really interesting reading ! according to the War Department the agreed 280 guns were reduced to 180 and the 1934 Model Gun promised was changed to the 1937 Model. The very odd thing is that all of the black and white photographs of the 25mm Hotchkiss in British service at home and with the BEF are all Model 1934 Anti-Tank guns ! Could this be a major cock up by the War Department ? Rob..................rnixartillery.
  19. Excellent ! Thanks Rich. Rob..................rnixartillery.
  20. One on Milweb at the moment, Brent mullins is constantly selling M8 parts on E-bay. I actually know where there is 3 or 4 Greyhounds in a yard here in the UK but cant divulge without the owners consent ! Rob..............rnixartillery.
  21. A colleague sent me these pics yesterday, Thanks Tobin. Rob..................rnixartillery.
  22. Same gun in all three pics although the first pic shows the gun with the flash hider removed. The flash hider is a foot long on these guns so it was generaly removed whilst loading onto portee's to save it being damaged. The spanner for undoing it was carried on the righ hand trail. Rob.................rnixartillery.
  23. Thats very kind of you Thankyou. Rob...............rnixartillery.
  24. Very Well spotted , I will try and get a copy.. :wow: Rob....................rnixartillery.
