  1. Spotted two new spec tank/Heavy haulage trucks on the m1 wednesday both had civvy plates. heading south by shefield
  2. Could they be "home made" by the guys who did all the mine tunnels under the german and british trenches in the first/second WW. they had a few nice weapons to protect themselves if they came across someone else from the other side doing the same as them.
  3. Nice and love the sat nav on the left front window :-D:-D
  4. I used to use the front drive sproket to get on the front decks of the cvr"t" then in to the drivers pit as long as on one left the seat up!!!!!!!:mad: Was alwys told never swing up useing the gun as it over time could knock it out of line up. Also remember getting down of them sfter a cold day/night standing on the front deck looking at the ground and thinking "glass feet this is going to hurt when i land" The mod way to get on a chally is from the front maing sure the driver can see you you then knock o the hull with the tow hitch. Wait for the driver and or comander to see you and say its safe to get on. With gcs that turret can do a ful rotation in under 10 secs not nice to be hit by a barrel as it swings round. aslo the fisrt thing you check when getting in or out is that the gcs is off. and when the gunner is about the play he must shout out "GCS IS LIVE" tells the crew the turret will be moving.
  5. Will be a cheftian bin we fitted them to ours holds a 13kg gas cylinder nice a tight for the gas cooker:-D

    Snow..

Snowed heavy here today but none has stuck. But very cold out so roads will be slippy in the morning. Not good as i am in work for 3.30 am tomorrow
  7. Now how strange is this capt P****y taught us tactics on my crew commanders course.
  8. yea we had sabre from new until mothballed. Shame nice bit of kit with the chain gun
  9. ok so that makes my small airfix collection look like a bad job done badly:red:
  10. We had a fox roll over down a small ist hill in germany the commander and gunner were both out of the fox watching him as he went along the track at the side of the hill When the road gave way and the fox rolled side to side down about a 60foot drop. Came to rest on its wheels. lucky the drive braced fo impact but he did get some nasty burns for the hot water in the bv. Reme tip up to one look at the fox. One of them jumped into the drivers pit fired it back up and drove it so far up the bank to make it easy to recover. It did make a mess of the fox lots of bent bits kit all over the place and a very bent gun barrel.
  11. I have probaly overtaken you then as i work for a firm with big green trucks and a girls name on the front :-D and go to tescos pritty often. And yea its called common courtesy to give a bike room shame some car drivers cant get to grips with it
  12. First hope your sisiter has a good recovery. Just one to add if you read the highway code you will find out its illeagl to reverse out of a minor road onto a major road eg your drive to the road outside your house. As for peoples driving it has got worst as car safety has got better i am all for replacing the airbag with a big spike that would slow them down. As a hgv driver who drives a 60 foot long artic everyday i work i see lots of sights of peoples bad driving some of which you just have to sit back and think what planet are they from. One of the bad habits that i notice more is cars and vans coming off say a motorway on to a slip road they wait til last the last min and try and get infront of you instead of pulling in to the near side before the junction alowing plenty of time. I have given up with slowing down for them now. If they cut me up they had better be out of my way as the cruise control is on. Also why do people leve it to the last min to move over when a lane is closed off coursing the traffic to back up. Dont they know the basic laws that if they pull in early the traffic will be flowing beter and faster whn you reach the lane clousre. So for the little rant. Could go on
  13. Yea its was a fav with pirates. Read about that type of gun somewere.

  15. Sorry if its been posted on here before. But a do like a good old tug of war. :-D
  16. Think i saw that one before it got took off. As for jumping a cvr"t" sabre I did a knife edge at battle speed and got both tracks off the hill . Both gunner and comander Braced for inpact. she landed a bit nose first and felt like she was going to fall over nose frist so lots of right foot brought the back end down and all was well. plus no damage done to sabre but a got a god back kicking off the comander with words that i wont repeat on here . But hay it was well kool:cool2::-D:-D:-D

    Wierd!

yea landys are faster in the cold weather even mine flys. Its all to do with the nice cold air going into the turbo and giving it more power. Oh and lack of spinning wheels helps.:-D Make the most of it come the sun shine it will be slow again:cry:
  18. Alot safer to look at the hill first and not even try it. but bailing out not good if they had slid down the hill and go run over by there own car. If that hapen to me stay in the car off the brakes and try giving quick pump of right pedel to try and strighten it up at least you may stand a chance of running down the kerb that way.

    Snow..

Lots of nice snow here in north wales. Not much fun for me as working tomorrow and starting off by heading from Warington to asda at abingdon oxfordshire, And in a 60foot artic should be fun. It was last week:shocked:
  20. Makes me laugh and also a bit sad lots of nice old kit there that would lok good done back up to orignal condition. But they blat on about how we are killing the earth then go chop a tree down for fuel before firing up the old unserviced engine bellowing out coluds of black smoke.
  21. Just watch it on tv. Forgot how bad it was using patton tanks as germen tigers and us half tracks as german ones.:angry I know it was made in 1960's but could they not find anything better than that also not one sherman in sight. Does my head in why dont film companys put some effort into getting it right. quick rant over going back to my corner witha big bottle of whiskey for my man flu
  22. :shocked:Nice and that is one low fly past.
  23. Yea the diesel cooker was a great bit of kit when up to heat.
  24. Now that is a question. The ones we had with fox and sabre had both barrels one for coax mount and one for ground roll. so you could have both when we monuted them on the turret we used the normal barrel with the adjustable gas plug. coax mounted it was with the hardened barrel.
