Looking for some of my old army toys First is my old saber 49 at 17 Then two foxes 10 fd 66 and 10 fd 70. They did look like this when i crewed them

Never driven a 432 always been in cvr. So dont know a lot about them. Just been looking on milweb. Bad move so many toys so little money to spend at the moment. Will keep looking so many things i want from sabre to fox to ferret to a stolly must find that wining lotto ticket.:-D

Take it you had left before we got re branded. Qoy went north back to ary and northen ireland. And we were made mbt chally 2 crew. It got very boaring after been recce for so long plus we lost all are trades we could not even fire a gpmg Unless we were re trained. So t the time i had moved to burton on trent in derbyshire and transfered to nottingham. then lost heart with the new roll and the politics of it all so left.

Cool I was 1st troop And we were the first troop to get tracks as well as we were the only troop to have 4 track trained drivers.

Ha up which Qoy were you with i was with "C" sqn (The earl of chesters). them did a bit with the Nottingham lot (sherwood rangers) till we all went mbt. And was turn over to the RMLY.

Tyipcal cav :whistle: Too Lazy to walk. And yea Been stay behind party a few times to load them up on the trailers or low loaders also put them into containers now that was fun:-D:shocked:

Just off topic a little bit but i am with a 4x4 club and we have a day were we take the public around a off road course in our 4x4's for a small charge (all goes to help the heroes) and had no problems with it and kids both young and old they love it. Just need them to sign a disclaimer before geting in the 4x4 just incase.

Just a quick note as well. Why is the guner not wearing the crewman bonedomes or have they changed them since i have left. That would be a big no no in my time and a chat with the sm without coffee.

Going off the last pic could be they didnt do a correct first parade and check the oil levels in the idler wheel or as has happen to me in the passed:blush: the the fill nut has come undone and you lose the oil and it goes bye bye. But could be wrong.:???

Well after reading all ten pages of comments on this thread. Must say my reason for joining this forum is That as a ex crewman I loved being with the sqn and troop i was with and was good at my job. yes i would love to own a sabre myself when money says i can. For me it would be a way to remember the old days and mates i have made and lost. But also to help anyone out if i can with a problem they may have with there cvr's. As for shows Yes i would love to be part of the crew to a cvr and wear my uniform with pride plus to see the faces of the people when i tell them that i have used these bits of kit in anger and lived in them with two other blokes for weeks on end . And must say it great that people like yourselfs have bought these bits of kit yourself and Brought them back to life out of the love of them. Cos lets be honest who would rebuild a scrapped fox because they were board. Plus to get back in the comanders seat and use the kit as i was taught to would be great.

Hello everybody, Just a few words about myself. (And not the ones the other half use's):argh:. Got a keen intrest in cvr"t" and cvr"w". Am ex q.o.y trained up as full crewman for fox, simiter and sabre. Nice to see them still around. Havent see any pics of my old ones yet Will scan the pics of my old ones and post them on here when i get a spare min:coffee:. Look forward to helping you out with any info i may know about them.
