  1. Shame I missed you Tom. The 2 other Tillys were on my campsite and we talked for a long time. Do you have the phone number for the other Tilly owner called Tom? I forgot to ask for it and would like to call him. Carleton
  2. I shall get your attention if I see you! :-)
  3. http://justacarguy.blogspot.co.uk/2011/02/harley-davidson-liberator-ww2-buried.html Found it, very interesting.

  5. Hi Simon, A friend of mine is making repro T plates, he found some reflectors but I cant recall what they were, he is sending me pictures when his latest batch is done so I'll ask when he's not as hectic. Carleton
  6. Hi, What problems were you having? I've just had to swap back to manual points because my new electronic ones failed after only 500 miles. My Jeep is 12 volt. Carleton
  7. Looking great, worth all the hard work.
  8. Tony, Thanks for your work and patience, very pleased. Carleton
  9. Great work Tom looking good for Normandy. I have started my Tilly restoration at last. Carleton
  10. Welcome. I did all kinds of mods but none you'd really see. Never had any problems with the G90s on mine and they wore pretty well.
  11. :cheesy:Looks like a 10cwt ammo/mortar trailer at 21 seconds, interesting they have ammo boxes on top of the mudguards - http://www.britishpathe.com/video/the-push-on-the-rhine/query/british+troops
  12. Some nice Humber box footage at 2 minutes here - (plus other vehicles) http://www.britishpathe.com/video/british-and-german-officers/query/army+driver
  13. I always like the Perenties with their galvo chassis. The Oz guys on the forum over there have been waiting a decade for these to be released with ever changing dates.
  14. That's one sludgy engine, how old is that oil! Beautiful truck and looks to be in great restorable condition. :cool2:
  15. Our local group has a lot of WW2 Jeep owners and there have been discussions on the main 4 parts suppliers. I thought I'd share the views I have heard and see what others thought. The views are based on a number of owners using all 4 for a variety of parts. We have no connections, bias etc etc . Jeeparts - Cheapest for a reason, numerous problems with bad 'mechanical/serviceable' parts, Wide choice. Dallas - Frequently good quality, most expensive, service recently has been patchy Universal - Usually good quality but some lower grade parts, prices between the above two, service very hit and miss Jeffrey Engineering - Good quality, Usually good service, Reasonable prices. As I said just observations on experiences from our group. Clearly original parts have or are drying up and many parts come from similar sources now. Any thoughts on the above?
  16. Good luck with it Guy, it will look great when done.
  17. Theres some decent German scout car replicas based on Landys, I know theyve been 'threaded' on here in the past.
  18. I read that last week and thought it sounded a bit odd but maybe it means lower priced items at better prices coming in?....probably very unlikely.
  19. Fuel costs have killed owning a large vehicle for me forever sad but there you are. Happy with smaller vehicles though and easier to manage at a residential property.
  20. Look forward to progress Tom, great project and nice to see at events.
  21. I had the same problem and cut some off an old chassis. It shouldn't take too long to find a knackered chassis.
  22. Very cool great for shows although think I'd be too tall to sleep in it.
