    Just asking, has anyone had any luck buying one of those Chocolate bars from Sainsburys? All the stores I've tried are sold out. Seems they underestimated the demand!!

    My 'Normal' car, a Ford Focus, failed a week ago in Kent and was brought home on an AA Relay truck. When we arrived home, I found the driver was a Military Vehicle enthusiast and we spent some time talking about W&PR and my Ford WOA2.

    Born at 10am on Friday 31st October was my 3rd Granddaughter, Alexandra Read (or just Alex). Mother and Baby doing very well. Looking forward to bringing them to a show in 2015.

    If you want recovery vehicles, try the REME Museum at Arborfield, but be quick as it's closing at Easter next year and moving to Lyneham and reopening in early 2016.

    3 WOT2 trucks, including a WOT2K model. Didn't know any existed.

    You can double check the date by turning the can over. After the word Valour and a single number, there should be a double number, which is also the year of manufacture.

    My manual on my Ford WOA2 mentions Leaded Fuels. The main jet on the carburettor was changed in 1943 to 145 from 140 to run on leaded fuel. The Ford V8 has hardened valve seats so leaded fuel is OK in it.

    The block can be either a Bottle Green, that Ford painted their V8 engines new or the same colour of the vehicle, which is what the REME painted engines when they overhauled them in WW2.

    I recognise the Bus. My late Father-in-Law always said he drove it once when he was in Palestine during WW2 in the RAF as a driver.

    I checked at the REME Museum today and this is correct.

    It is not from a WOT2 or WOA2. If it is Ford, then I think it came from a Ford Pop van or car as it looks to take one 6Volt battery.

    There is a 1940s Blitz Day at the REME Museum at Arborfield on Sunday 5th October 10am til 4pm. This will be the last one at this site as the museum is closing next April and moving to Lynham near Swindon, to open April 2016. I want to make this show the best they have had and need any Allied re-enactors and any Allied WW2 vehicles.     Strongly advise joining the Early Ford V8 club. Contact the membership secretary Geoff Smith on geoff-smith@talktalk.net for details. I take it you're a member of the MVT and/or IMPS? Almost all Ford WOT1 trucks went to the RAF for various roles. Your truck may have it's serial number and contract number on a plate, try contacting the RAF Museum to see if they have any details, but I doubt they will have much.

    My 2 Daughters are both Pregnant. The eldest, Emma, is expecting a Baby Girl, her 3rd, in early November. She will be called Alexandra. My Youngest, Sarah, is expecting her first Baby in Mid January (hoping for a Grandson this time). Everybody doing well and Daughter's Partners are coping with the demands. Robert Davey

    There was a bit on Radio Berkshire this morning (Tuesday 22nd) about Scams and protecting vulnerable people. One chap's Father had been fooled several times and lost Thousands, and the Son was a Banker!! Look up Nigerian or 419 Scams on Google for details. Has anyone had the Scam of 'Microsoft' phoning you? Nearly fell for it myself as I was having Computer problems at the time, but realised the scam when they wanted bank details. Realised afterwards that Microsoft couldn't know my phone number as I hadn't given it to them when buying my Computer. Take care out there.

    A friend has a German WW1 dagger and needs a few parts. I did find a source in Colchester, Essex name of Jeremy something a few years ago, but I can't remember the exact name or address. Can anyone here help with this person's address or recommend anyone who can help with parts for a WW1 German Navy dagger? Many thanks.

    If you want to save on carriage, they will take items to Beaulieu Autojumble in September for you to collect from their stall. Very useful if you want large or bulky items like millboard.

    There is a 1940s 'Blitz Day' at the REME Museum, Arborfield, Berks on Sunday 5th October 2014. Wartime Allied vehicles are welcome, please contact robert.davey6@btinternet.com if you would like to attend. The event starts at 11am so you need to arrive 10:30/10:45 and leave about 15:30. This will be the last 'Blitz Day' at the current Arborfield location as the REME Museum will be closing and moving to Lyneham near Swindon.

    From experience, Clive knows what he is talking about and his knowledge is extensive. I strongly advise taking your electrical components to him for checking.

    I have had similar faults with my WOT2 and WOA2. Both times it was a faulty coil. Is the coil you used a new or new-old-stock item? Try a Lucas DLB100 coil, I use these on my vehicles and haven't had a problem since. Also, are you using an original condenser or a new one? I strongly suggest using a Lucas DCB121C condenser and not an original.
