  1. Don't know if it has been posted already, but Tanks in Town seems to back after last years absence. http://tanksintown.be/ Alex
  2. Definately! The lack of responce doesn't always mean that people don't admire your work. Please keep the updates coming. I enjoy your updates very much and just like with the repair trailer, I like your clean way of working and attention to detail! Alex
  3. Awesome to see the trailer and tractor together. Well done Bary! Alex
  4. Hi Martyn, An original front wheel has 32 spokes, rear 40 spokes. Finding a suitable front wheel with the same size, shape and number of spokes shouldn't be too hard....at least that is my experience. When I was working on my project, I found one on the web, along with another one awith 36 spokes which I should still have somewhere.I I don't know how many teeth there are on the toothed wheel originally. I wasn't able to find one, so I choose to use "normal" bike wheel and weld in a new laser cut centre with the BSA lettering....works fine. (I should still have a few of these BSA inserts in the garage if you are interested) Alex
  5. Ah, I presumed it was home made, but didn't want to ask if it was...fearing for retaliation at Ginkel Heath in September:D Seems like a nice job indeed. I always miss these airborne 6pdr's at the Arnhem remembrance....and Morris 17pdr combo's for that matter. Anyway, going off subject. Nice pics, seems like a really nice event....always good to see a vehicle and aircraft combo. Alex
  6. Awesome work and I have to repeat that I think your decision to rebuild the PU body was the good one. Very well done and very fast as well. Have you thought about markings already? regards, Alex
  7. Guy, James, thanks for your responce. I also have to source some nice hardwood for my CMP. Definately looking forward to D-Day 2014. I just heard the weather will be terrific:D Good work again Guy! Alex
  8. Excellent work again Guy! Can I ask you what type of wood you are using; it looks really nice! So, D-day 2014, can we admire the truck there? Alex
  9. Nice work Niels! A pity that you have to do these things all over again. I had a similar experience with a Fiat 500; tried to save time and had the welding done at a garage. Sadly the work was not very good, so I had to do it all over again myself, so it took even more time and money in the end! please keep on posting pics of the repairs; it's nice to see how you made the edges and flanges on the panels. Alex
  10. Keith, moving abroad? Holland? Sad that you have to let it go. I have seen the car in Arnhem a few years ago and it's a stunning MV. Alex
  11. Chris, Interesting question. Your top picture of the closed cab one also shows the larger cable drums than what seems to be standard. I often wondered if this is wartime or postwar. Maybe also part of the Swiss conversion??? Alex
  12. Congratulations. I am looking forward to following your resto log, just as a few years ago with your C15 on MLU! good luck, Alex
  13. Great picture! Indeed it looks like a WW2 LST, with LCVP's hanging on the sides. I believe Indonesia had a few of these, but I am susprised they still have them. If only one of these could attend the D-day remembrance in Normandy next year! Alex
  14. P-O, I visited the Bayeux museum a number of times years ago and than once after it was reorganised. It used to be packed with vehicles, uniforms, items and historical pictures. After the reorganisation a lot of material has disappeared, including vehicles like the Morris PU, Caterpillar Dozer, Skoda truck and Daimler Dingo. From rumours I understand that the museum staff had some disagreements with the owner of a lot of the material, which led to the reorganisation. I remember seeing the Morris PU again a few years ago in the VeMil magazine....part of a small private collection in Normandy. Back to the subject...I hope to see pics of the Panther restoration. Alex
  15. Pierre-Olivier, Thanks for the extra information about the museum...Sounds like a good reason to go to Normandy again! France did indeed operate a bunch of Panther tanks post ww2 and I believe they even built a French prototype tank with a Panther Maybach post-war. Love to hear more about this subject and the number of Panthers they had. Years ago I heard rumours that part of the Bayeux museum material, when it was till packed with stuff, was going to be displayed in a different museum. Sorry for deviating in this post about Leloups Panther, but could it be that we will find some of the old Bayeux vehicles in the new museum??? Alex
  16. Pierre-Olivier, Thanks for the update. Good to hear that the Panther will be restored (it's ex-Saumur isn't it?) by Paratrooper vehicles. Do you have more info about that new museum? I have heard rumours about this before; it will certainly be a museum to go to, but on the other hand I think it's a pity that some Falaise vehicles will be torn from their historic location. Alex
  17. The reason I mentioned NM was because of the proportions of the nose in the pic of the Swiss truck. The NM nose looks (is??) somewhat shorter than the NR and the nose sits higher on the front fenders......distance from top of the fender to the top of the hood is bigger. But, for me the giveaway is the height of the side lights in comparison to the headlights. With the NM the headlight and supports are approximately in line with the side lights, while with the NR the headlights sit lower. Alex
  18. Nice picture! As mentioned by Degsy and others.....both Internationals; narrow windscreen, bonnet/hood and fenders don't match GMC. Love to have one of those Clarkats.......picking up Christmas trees in the neighbourhood should be fun:-D Alex
  19. Excellent work Singe and Henry; thanks for posting these pics. The additonal pics and story on the daimler site are well worth having a look and read. The picture of Valkenswaard is pretty well-known and I have passed by the location quite a few times on our way to Belgium. What a coincidence that your father appears on this picture.....excellent that you plan on finishing the Dingo in that registration! Keep the pics coming. Alex
  20. Fernando, Wow, congrats on the Tilly's and the C60L. All seem to be in very good condition. Nice to see the C60L still has it's side curtains and the canvas covers, although I think the plexi is very hard to see through after all these years! Please keep us updated on the Austins and Chev! Alex
  21. Excellent work, well done! That first picture could easily be a magazine cover of one of the MV mags, or a very good picture for next years HMVF calendar:D Good luck with those last few details. Alex
