  1. Mony, By keep posting it I think you are going to end up leaving a load of copies of it on Jacks server, taking up space and making it confusing when you update it. It would be better to just have one controlled copy. Chris
  2. Monty, Rather than keep posting the Saracen register on different threads, why not create a new one and delete the old versions when you update it? Chris
  3. There was a thread on this on the EMLRA forum. It's real, but not British, it's from New Zeland. Chris
  4. The GPMG is an FN MAG... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FN_MAG
  5. Check the sale prices of the ones in the last tender. They were around lot 264, 266 etc. :-)
  6. Monty, See here: http://www.members.iinet.net.au/~dgrev/dhmg/andjef.html and here: http://www.members.iinet.net.au/~dgrev/dhmg/andjef2.html
  7. That was several years ago now. I suggest you visit your local DVLA office and consult wth them.
  8. Replacing the belts is a fairly easy job (for a Fox!) and should only take a couple of hours. You need to disconnect the flexy coupling on the exhaust, remove the bolts from the spine of the engine deck. Hook the rear armour up to the crane, take out the bolts and lift it out the way. The heat exchanger bolts through the fan pack, remove that first and we usually stick a block of wood under the heat exchanger to keep it in the same place. Thre are 2 bolts connecting the fan pack to the top of the engine, and 8 or so at the bottom. You can slide the fan pack off the drive coupling and rest it on the floor. Assemble in reverse order. While you have it in bits, you should replace all 3 belts. The numbers I have for them are: Generator: 249D Steering: 390H 341 Fan: 345L 137 Chris
  9. Mark, The belt is a standard size, you should be able to get one easily from a commercial vehicle spares dealer. Do not buy an NOS belt as it's probably been sitting around for 20 years. Chris
  10. If you want a 3/4 ton trailer cover, try here: http://www.emlra.org/C&S%20Barrow%20index/trailer.htm Not sure what you want hoops for?
  11. Does anyone have any photos of Scorpions in the Gulf War in 91? Which units took them out there? I have read that 51 Sqn RAF Regiment had some out there? Thanks, Chris
  12. Here's an interesting photo (or maybe I'm just sad!) This is the area usually covered by the front mud flap on 49AT37. It's obviously not been painted since the mid 90s as it's still white. Chris
  13. Hi John, yes you're correct. Let me know if you come across anything useful for them. Chris

    MoD cuts

You could start by turning one in to a coffee table, like they have on Top Gear?

A diesel Scimitar would be nice!
  16. Andy, I am sure there's a box body you can fit in to that bed, rather than try and build a camper under the canvas. Chris
  17. Yes, there is an address, I will send it to you.
  18. The Merlin system will only hold data from the date it was implemented, which was some time in the late 80s. Before that you need the paper records, and I guess these must have changed at some point as like you say they tend to miss data from before the late 60s.
  19. The ammeter will only show a reading when you are drawing a current. Switch all the lights on, you should see it move a bit!
  20. Don't worry, it's not dead yet! Have you got any photos of it in service? Chris
  21. It seems to happen quite often... what can you see in this photo! :cool2:
  22. Don, When a vehicle is released its data is not removed from the database. I have been able to get printouts for everything. PM sent. Chris
  23. Restore and sell. At the moment I am collecting parts, looks like I've found all the missing wiring from 03FD10 Chris
  24. Robin, The Canada customs incpection sticker is still on the vehicle, and the BATUS entry was in 1989. It was still a Scorpion then, and has been rebuilt twice since. Therefore it must have gone back at some point, so it's been there at least twice. No buscuit I'm afraid as I knew it had been there when I saw the sticker! Chris
