  1. Hi, after a long while it's time for a little update and some more questions. I managed to get the gearbox sorted last year using a large metal bar -last option before dropping the gear box out was to apply lots of force with a scaffolding pole and it worked - got it in and out with bar and now it works normally. Sadly after a bit more work an electrical problem developed but as summer is on the way I thought it was time to get back to the restoration. The issue is when I try and start the engine everything goes dead for about 10 seconds or until I remove the battery connection - could it be a faulty relay or is it a problem with the wiring or starter motor? Regards Simon.
  2. What are the symptoms and if it is how do you adjust it? Thanks Simon.
  3. Hi, I've got a problem with the LT 85 gearbox in my snatch land rover. I've sorted a couple of problems with the snatch and can now drive it about but I can't get it into reverse, I can push the lever down and fully across to the left but it won't go up into reverse. I've spoken to a couple of people and they think it could be a selector shaft problem - A couple of questions that someone can hopefully answer- has anyone else had a similar problem and if it is a selector shaft problem and it be fixed without removing the gearbox? Thanks Simon.
  4. Looks like a good days work. How worn and what condition are the old pads in? Can they be reused? I'm missings some pads and was wondering if I could get some part worn ones to match the rest on at the moment? Also how much do new pads cost and do you put new bolts and washers on or use the old ones?
  5. I came across this in a corner of a field. It has Civil defence corps operations vehicle written on the side. Can anyone shed some light on what it is?
  6. How much did the new wheels cost and where did you get them from?
  7. Sounds interesting but what price are they looking for?
  8. What are these things called. Been looking at the pic for 10 mins and still can't think of the name.
  9. Thanks, I'm hoping the batteries will be ok as they were put on new last time it was run. On a simular topic how long will diesel in a tank last? It was full to the top when we got it 3 years ago and we've still got some left in the bottom.
  10. We've not used the 432 for over 2 months Are there any things (other than the usual checks of oils and water) that need looking at before its started after a long period of non use?
  11. Just found this clip of a fv432 jumping over a car :schocked: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=D461zkoohkw I'm no expert but that can't be good for the suspension :-o
  12. I noticed them as well Does seem strange that a film with a massive budget didn't have the correct modern US tanks in it.
  13. Are these easy to get hold of (can't see another one on ebay) and can you get anything more portable for individual/ infantry use?
  14. What did you bid on? a unimog
