  1. Do you need a jacking strut? I have some left. Never tried to glue the rubber back on. I think you’d be wasting your time, the road wheels take quite a load especially when cornering. If you are stuck for wheels I have some take offs I might sell. Chris
  2. I remember back when there was so much armour in the arena at the end of the day they were running out of places to park everything. I don’t think we’ll ever see the likes of that again, but it won’t stop me and I’ll be there as usual.
  3. I can’t see why they would be more prone to ‘falling apart’ than any other armoured vehicle. The MoD keeps a lot of vehicles, including Challenger 2, in storage and I’m pretty sure they don’t have to go around picking up bits that keep falling off?
  4. That is the registration number for the trailer.
  5. Definitely not a Land Rover part! They are mineral oil seals. Do not put brake fluid in the steering and braking systems. You can buy seal kits from Banisters. http://www.milweb.net/go/banister/ The master cylinders are all identical.
  6. I agree with Vince, have destroyed seals in the past trying to stretch them over the piston without soaking first. I always carry seal kits or a spare rebuilt master cylinder on the vehicle along with steering pads and brake cleaner. Contaminated steering pads is an issue when the front fills up during heavy rain. Regarding fuel contamination, I’ve fitted smaller marine tanks to both the Spartans we have had after breaking down due to crap fuel. You’ll never need 400l of fuel anyway. Chris
  7. Are you sure? You will need to cut them to length and drill the holes but they look the same?

  9. It is possible to buy them new, I got some 10 years ago but can’t remember where from. I’ll see if I can find out. Chris
  10. A bit more difficult as it’s not as easy to prove when it was built, but once you have a dating letter and verification from a recognised club or organisation then the rest is easy.
  11. I wouldn’t be surprised if 7H5KY was Husky?
  12. Sammy Clarke is in your area, http://www.arm-soft.com/ Chris
  13. That’s probably why they went cheap then?
  14. Someone on the Facebook group has looked at them and stated that they were missing the clutches. I can also see fans missing in the photos. As with all of these things, bid what you’re happy to pay and ideally view them first.
  15. Lance, I believe the Brightwells Spartans are missing quite a few parts, final drives, tracks, dash boards, and most difficult to source clutches. ‘Knock down prices’ is a relative term, cheap if you have those parts in stock or can wait for them to turn up... if they ever do. Most likely some or all of these will end up stripped for spares and scrapped. Chris
  16. Hi Paul, you could try a Heritage Certificate? https://www.britishmotormuseum.co.uk/archive/heritage-certificates Chris
  17. You need to take the head off and investigate further. It only takes a few mins on a Jeep.
  18. Print out and fill in form V112 and send with your application. https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/declaration-of-exemption-from-mot
  19. I’ve done a couple without the 654, but I had a Withams receipt and MVT verification certificate.
  20. Unlikely, I’ve never seen a rebuild kit. I did have some remanufactured units a while ago but Andrew Baker bought them. They are not cheap!
  21. Please keep your name, address and bank account details in private messages. I will delete them from this thread for your own safety!
  22. I bought some bits a few years ago. I did meet the owner at W&P and I don’t think they speak English so might be why they aren’t replying.
  23. Red herring or not, if he’s put EP90 in there it needs draining and refilling with engine oil.
  24. Does the owner have a service schedule? The CVRT gearbox runs on engine oil, I can’t imagine the Shielder being any different... if you’ve put gear oil in it I’m not surprised it won’t work properly? https://www.greenmachinesurplus.com/shielder-carrier-full-tracked-vlsms-maintenance-schedule-3156-p.asp
