    They don't list the open hours on the website, but they have never been open on Sundays. No apointment needed these days, but you can't really turn up for a walk around. If you want to look at something specific they will help you out, but it's not like browsing used cars. You might also have to wait a while for someone to deal with you.

    Seen this one before, it didn't sell then and I don't think it will sell now! It's sad but these people think they are adding value to a vehicle by customising it, when in reality they are making it nearer worthless to any potential buyers. The 'bling' Ferret is the classic example, £10000 spent said the owner, he could only sell it for around £2000. If it was original it would have kept the value, if not appreciated.
  5. Lee is correct, our vehicles are typically at the Hop Farm for 3 weeks. They have to be ready to go up to 2 weeks before the show, and may not come back for up to 2 weeks after. We usually get notified of collection or drop off 12 to 24 hours before, so you need to be very flexible. I didn't see as many vehicles arriving during the show as usual, normally Rex's truck is bringing something new in every day. Maybe they'd just been efficient and everything was on site already.   6. That all depends, what the vehicle is, where it is etc. In some cases he'll use his own truck, in other cases he'll put money towards transport costs. You need to contact him for a quote, this year his low loader was not as busy as previous years, so they may be taking on less jobs now.

  8. The one on the left is mine, the truck is now restored as a GS, but the body is for sale along with a chassis and some other parts in the classified section.

  10. A real FV432/30, cupola replaced with flat hatch. As seen at Beltring, note girl standing in cupola!
  11. You're quite right David, just checked my Berlin Brigade book, page 51 shows the flat hatch installed where the normal 432 cupola should be. Even so, most of the ones you see at shows still have the normal 432 cupola fitted. Chris
  12. The CVR(T) torque wrench is set, the value can not be adjusted. When a different value is needed, for the sprockets, then an adaptor is used.

  14. How hard are these to find Real ones, quite hard. There were not many made, as far as I know most of them were cut up or went to the ranges. There are lots out there made from bits. You can spot a real one because the commanders cupola is removed and blanked off. ..why do they exist? What purpose did they serve? Stop-gap until the warrior was introduced? I think so yes. Chris
  15. Lee, They were running a few hours behind on Friday, due to an alternator problem on the truck. We were unloading at 2am on Saturday morning, the vehicles should have been back Friday night. Chris
  16. I'm afraid I can't help much. My lists show that 49AT18 and 49AT19 have survived, 10FD67 and 10FD68 have survived and 10FD72 is still around. Can't help with info on your old vehicles though. Chris
  17. Dougy, The FV432 you have down as a Mk 3 (the one at Withams) is actually a Mk2. It has the K60 pack, steering box etc fitted. It was just built as a demo rig. Chris

  19. Needle guns are only suitable for cleaning thick walled components or vehicles. Do not try removing the paint from your Land Rover or Jeep with one! I use a needle gun to clean up hulls of armoured vehicles, for anything made from sheet metal, such as the wings or bins, or bits from soft skin vehicles I use a blast cleaning company.

  21. A needle gun is the way to go for your 432. It might not be as quick, but it's definitley a lot cleaner. You will still need a good compressor with a large tank. Once the hull is needle gunned you can run an angle grinder with a cup brush or sanding disc over it to get it nice and smooth before painting it. I've done a Ferret and a Sabre like this, both have come out nice. Chris

  25. A Ferret is not worth £13000 at the moment. It looks reasonably tidy, but it's not very complete inside and someone has painted it with that awful non slip paint. You can find a better deal elsewhere. Ferrets are generally seen for sale around £5000 - £6000. If you really want a CVR(T) Sabre I think you will struggle, they are becoming increasingly rare and more and more expensive. The last 2 restored ones I know about sold for £25000 and £19000. An incomplete one sold for £14000.
