  1. it will have MK IV stamped on the mag housing (L2A3) Dont worry about if it's semi-Auto or not. When deactiveted it will be welded solid! so it's academic! L2A3 is the correct variant for your Ferret.
  2. Binoculars, Prismatic. No.2. Ruperts had them as pretty much standard issue. BUT, ANY recce AFV at unit level could Sign a pir out from the G1098 Stores. If you wanted virtualy Any equipment & could justify it. The if you signed it out, you could have it. If YOU lost it, as you had signed for it. YOU would have to pay for a replacment! Sometimes, if an item wa what is termed, a Starred Item. It was a HIGHLY traceable & Acountable item. IE@ A SMG for example. If this weant 'missing' Etc.... There was Hell to pay! Unit personell & vehicle, accomodation seraches. S.I.B Called in (Mil Police C.I.D Section) & life was generally very unpleasant in the unit! A court Marshal usualy ensued!.................(God Help the Poor Bas**rd!)
  3. VCR Act = Violent Crime Reduction Act. Realistic Imitation Firearm. There are sections on Procuring, Manufacturing, sale of Etc. All Basicaly Boll**ks, BUT, we ALL have to abide by the Law. It's a bit of a Nause, but you can legally comply with it fairly easily........:undecided:
  4. Andy, Although issued as part of the C.E.S with Vehicle Etc. It was Rarely If at all worn on a belt kit in the field on Exercise. It was too cumbersome & was kept stowed anywhere you could in the vehicle concerned. They were originaly designed to go on the 1944 patt Webbing where the Bottom of the waistbelt had eyelets for that purpose. (& other Kit) In practice, IF, carried. It was generally strapped crosswise on the outside of the Bumroll (Poncho Carrier) of the 58 web set. The scabbard as you know, has a web beltloop on the rear, & this was really the only way you COULD carry one on a 58 Patt belt if you actually wanted to. In Reality, you had so much junk to lug around. ANYTHING you didnt want to carry, you didnt, IF you could get by without it! Try getting in & out a Ferret with even JUST a set of 58 webbing on, & you WILL see why it was not worn on web sets by vehicle crews! :-D
  5. Im sure that SOME of the Goats even made it into Uniform!........
  6. ...he has been doing that ever since...and the council still listen to him... Paul, it would seem your local Council is also made up of Gits! Possibly some of them even have grey hair!............:cheesy:
  7. Tony, MY biggest pet hate also! 'Users' holding ANY Sub Machine gun by the magazine! You just DONT do it, unless of course you actually WANT the gun to jam & stop on you!!!! Having repaired & test Fired many Thousands of SMG & related class weapons. I can confirm that if you hold a Sten (for example) by the mag. If the housing is worn a little, the mag will pull over & back & the feedhorns of the bolt will hit the mag & jam the gun. You do NOT!!!! Hold ANY SMG class of gun by the mag!!!!! (Stamp Collector rant over!.....) Pathetic I know, but it's the same for me as it is for vehicle collectors who see incorrect Aerial mounts on Wagons Etc! I was trained in the way of: There is only one way to do it, The CORRECT way!
  8. I used to Own a Saladin myself a few years back. Chopped it in for a scorpion, But I miss owning it! I would be VERY interested in a LARGE scale saladin. One that could be modified for radio control. Say 1/6th Scale, would you be able to do that?.........:nut:
  9. The English in Lagos schools is definately coming uo to civil service standards! Or is it the other way round!.........:cheesy:
  10. Lovely! What a Superb Looking vehilce the Saladin is. I wish I could afford one these days!..:embarrassed:
  11. Andy, I THINK this was an addition of a mod kit for normal GS 101's. If you wanted to fit a small radio table to hold say a 151 or a 152 clip in kit. I THINK that is what these were for. You could run a radio set in a 12volt 101 with the addition of the 12v variant batt charger box plugged into the radio battery. Even though the set ran at 24v. I BELIVE they were bolted in on the vehicle interior battery box. Hope this helps you? Mike.
  12. I made a Buy it now offer of £5 for this plane. The seller didnt even have the common courtesy to get back to me!..........Honestly, SOME People...............
  13. Andy, I cant say for SURE. But these LOOK like the small Radio table used in the rear of 101 Landrovers. They certainly look like the size!...........:undecided:
  14. I wonder if you cans still get the spares at Halfords!.......
  15. And I bet a pound to a pinch of Sh*t, They wouldnt get a Lottery fund grant to restore some of the buildings either! Probably because of the type of 'Items' it houses! Not politicaly correct old chap!. Rather have a Flipping Art Gallery for the Bed Wetting Tree & Bunny Huggers!....
  16. Are you sure that some bigger boys did it & ran away!............:cool2:
  17. Willkomen, Nach Die Freundlich Militair Fahrzeug Sammler Club!.....
  18. Mark, If it dosent work out, you can always JACKET all in!................:-X Sorry, couldnt resist it!.............:-D
  19. (Paddy) 'Who's coat is that jacket'?..........:-X
  20. Just to be pedantic, the 'Buttons' that have been removed are called Cascabells. Got to be honest though, I have never seen the Cannons themselves, as I have not yet visted Firepower! Got to get around to it some day i guess!
