  1. I was winning that truck on ebay when it was removed! As another fellow K9 owner I look forward to seeing her back on the road! Austin
  2. Excellent find! You've got to love the early Bedford MW production line pictures... http://www.stilltimecollection.co.uk/detail/12105-tpt-transport-truck-lorry-wagon-bedford-factory-ww2-world-war-soldier-military-army-battle-fight-fighting-luton-ministry-of-supply-visit.html
  3. Thats a great shot, where was it taken? I wonder what the role of the MRA1 was? Water bowser perhaps? Do you have any more pictures you could share with the forum? Thanks Austin
  4. The coil will help cool as already mentioned and also to act as a shock absorber, as on BSA Bantam D1 fuel lines! :-)
  5. say a Russian Ural/Cossack, made to look like a 40's BMW. The advert is a bit vague though isn't it.....:-(
  6. Fantastic, didnt they actually use an Austin loadstar GS truck though? http://www.dailypost.co.uk/news/north-wales-news/2009/12/04/great-train-robbery-lorry-survives-cae-dai-fire-55578-25318515/
  7. Excellent, the devil is in the details!
  8. Excellent project going on here! Vulcans were built in Southport, we have a road called 'Vulcan Street' where the old factory used to be....:-) And, Southport football club was the first football club to change its name after being sponsored by Vulcan, there were called the Southport Vulcans!
  9. Welcome in Tony, I have seen your Ferret at the Air show, very nice! I was there with the Austin K9. :-) Will look out for you in 2012! Austin
  10. I know of a rough but complete Mk1 Stolly at the Leisure lakes just off the Tarlton bypass, at the paintball course. http://www.frontlinepaintball.co.uk/ Might be for sale, or hold some useful spares....
  11. Cant wait to see this progress! Excellent!
  12. Hello and welcome, I'm just down the road in Southport..... There are a couple of Stollys for sale on Milweb....:cool2:
  13. Could be an exhaust blow too, these often sound like ticking.....
  14. Love it! Can you imagine rallying one with the stencil like that...:cheesy:
  15. Excellent pictures. Anyone remember Martindales in Chorley, nr Preston?
  16. Everybody's responsibility? To check every vehicle at a rally is taxed and insured?! My responsibility ends at paying over inflated premiums due to the none insured morons....And also paying my council tax to pay for the Police who seem to be taking uninsured vehicles off the road. Most of the rallies I book into request insurance details if the vehicle isn't just a static display, which is great, I wouldn't however want to show my cover note to some mithering idiot at a rally field. If you use an uninsured vehicle on public roads, you deserve everything that you have coming.
  17. Unbelievable. Mind your own business is my first responce to a thread like this, what does it have to do with you? If you're really that concerned, speak to the vehicle owner, I'm sure the Police have better things to be doing than visiting rallies under the say so of busybodies like yourself.
  18. Just read through this thread and like you way you are doing things. Keep up the great work!
  19. Right, I bought the paint, I'll stick a review on when it arrives...100% good feedback on ebay though!
  20. The funniest thing I overheard was someone likening my K9 to a Sunblest bread van he used to drive...:wow: And another guy telling his grandkids that he lived in a truck like mine in the desert for 3 years.....
  21. I've seen they've got some cheap 5 ltr military paints on ebay. How accurate is the colour? Thanks http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220720107273&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:VRI
