  1. What a fantastic truck. I don't think I've ever seen one in the metal too. Any more pics of the Champ too?
  2. I found this Bedford MW mk2 on Flickr (a photo site) under a set of pictures called 'scrap yard'. Certainly looks in good condition. Also on the same set is this apparently roadworthy Austin K2 ambulance.
  3. Excellent project on an unusual vehicle! Whats next in the pipeline?!
  4. Piet, that Leyland/landrover combo looks so right.
  5. I'm currently re-reading Ice Cold in Alex by the author Christopher Landon. :coffee:
  6. Amazing work. Looks awesome and I bet it sounds it!
  7. I'm a biker! I have a garage full of bikes and enjoy rebuilding them almost as much as riding them! My current bike is a 1985 Suzuki GSXR 7/11 (750 frame with 1100 engine fitted) although my 1100 motor has been tuned and is putting out 155rwbhp. A real street sleeper. :-D
  8. Welcome to the forum LongJohn. I havent been here a week and already I'm addicted! I own a K9 and would love to hear about your experiences with them. Oz
  9. Big Ted - MGP 833L Owned by Silcocks funfair for years. Heres a link to some pictures as she was in her heyday. http://www.silcocks-pics.fotopic.net/c1163640.html And how she looks now, currently awaiting restoration.
  10. Thanks for the welcome! K9 ambulances are really rare, they had softer sprung suspension too! I went to the December West Lancs MVT meeting and had a good time, also going on the road run on the 27th! I'll check the book page out too! :yay:
  11. I've got a great little paperback book here on the BAOR, and some of the vehicles have white crosses on the left front window and/or on the left hand door, what does this mean? I was thinking it was something to do with the demob of the vehicles, but then I spotted this picture in the Antar gallery. Anyone shed any light on this?
  12. I'd love one, I'll be going to check one this week, its about 10 miles away at a saw mill. I havent seen it yet but the guy who told me doesnt know whether its a Pongo or Explorer but it hasnt moved for 10+ years. Fingers crossed.
  13. Graham Booth is my uncle, still need those pics? If so let us know. Here is a Pioneer recently back on the rally scene. Registration TVS 724. Was restored back in the mid 80's by Graham into Desert colours. Here it is with the engine out. It was then sold to Audsleys to use as a rolling advert (they also had a Diamond T!). After being forgotten about in the corner of there yard for about 10 years, it was restored again.... And here is how she stands now. Very impressive looking Scammell.
  14. Hmm....I'll have to look into the year of manufacter, any tips on how to go about this? I'm called Austin due to my Dad having a K9 and a Champ when I was born, my first ride home was in a champ!
  15. I will check that out CW. I can see I'm going to be addicted to this site!
  16. That was restored by the late John Stott of Southport. It was a recovery truck in Blackpool after demob and John spent years restoring it, it was as new right down to the early leather dip stick that sits in the passenger side on the engine cover. Good to see it rallying.
  17. Thanks for the welcome. My K9 is suffering slightly from the elements, but I hope to get that sorted in time for Spring. Also got a Champ project on the go... :-D
  18. Loved looking through this gallery of one of the toughest looking trucks ever made. My Local bus company used to use one (Southport Corporation) and it's currently being restored. Here are some pictures taken from here http://www.southportforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=51464
