  1. I have a rear wheel inner seal marked as "TAW 21001301814V" does anyone have any cross reference numbers for it? Maybe Bedford's own part number? Any help gladly accepted R
  2. You might want to look at your own profile settings as there is no location showing for where you live. You will get a lot more offers of help if people see where you live. Where is it in the world that you hang your hat? R
  3. Dear Gagan, I was wondering when you or your Saracen were going to surface! I have been sending you text messages but not getting any replies. I am busy for at least a month right now, I would be able to come down after Labour Day but not sooner. Sorry to hear that parts still not arrived. Can you PM your phone number? Robin
  4. How do you polish the plastic mirror lenses found on Bedford MJs and other vehicles? These are the ones with what appears to be chromed plastic instead of glass. Any tips, hate to buy new ones, ours are getting a bit foggy. R
  5. I cant speak about too much but I can tell you that the sticker beside the antenae mount is WRONG it is from a much later / current Land Rover and has no place on your vehicle. The door crest, hmmmm not sure what to say there, might be appropriate if it was a Regimental recruiting vehicle but otherwise it is out of place. The Bridge classification would have been an actual plate at that time i am fairly sure. The airborne weights look a bit out of place, are you trying to mark it as Para Engineers hence the Pegasus on the front? Explain a bit more what you are trying to do. Why do you have civilian lights and civilian valence at the front? You also need a pintle hitch for the rear cross member R
  6. Dear Andy, I can imagine how you feel and what this will do to morale for people like yourself who look after the REME Collection. I feel for you mate. Let the rest of us know what we can do to help you guys Robin
  7. James, welcome. you need to start a separate thread on your Saracen so others see that as a stand alone thread. Then you will get replies to specific problems. Dont forget to use the search feature before asking the question as someone else may have already asked the same one. Robin
  8. Are you rebuilding a TACR? I see the plate is for one. That might be valuable to someone doing a rebuild R
  9. No Im not saying it is the problem, im just curious as to what kit your using. I have seen some of the most amazing MV paint jobs achieved by laborious prep work, good quality paint and a Wagner electric $40 sprayer. It might be the humidity which is known to cause many a problem. I am not painter by any means. R
  10. That's very interesting, I was reading in some official UK MOD blurb very, very recently that NO Bowman kit has been officially released / sold off by MOD as yet and anything out there in the public domain has likely been half hinched or fell off the back of some wagon somewhere. . . . . . "Allo there young fella me lad, care to 'hexplain this 'ere army radio gubbbins wot is in yer motor?" . . . . "evening all";) R
  11. We have had that show on our side of the pond a few times. Quite the operation, mass production always makes for short cuts doesn't it. I think we will be seeing those hulls re worked a few times before we get the next "Tank" design. R
  12. Richard, over here, the "authorities" are quite happy to take the MOD Form 654 with "year into service" as at least the year of manufacture rather than a build certificate. Robin
  13. Dear Marvin, True patience being taken by you on the job and not a few pennies either by the looks of it. All your work will pay off by keeping her under cover in the shed i'm sure. Just like eating an elephant you are biting off a mouth full at a time and making slow but sure progress. Kind of gives me inspiration to get going on a project I have been procrastinating on starting. Thanks for that! R
  14. Gareth, welcome to the padded cell area. I own 2 Ferrets currently and look after 2 more for work plus 2 101s for work. I think we need some pictures. I used to live in Painswick many moons ago. R
  15. The premium spray on "bed liner" material in North America is called Line X. We have done 3 Dodge pick ups and 2 Kawasaki Mules and the rear wheel arches of a Kubota tractor with it from new. It has quite a thickness to it, about an 1/8th of an inch. It is near bullet proof material, resistant to oils and fuels being spilled on it. If the metal it is on gets dented it doesn't delaminate it stretches with the ding. If it gets gouged back down to the original paint work we use a caulking tube of window urethane as a workman like repair. There is no home version in my area as they protect the supply of the product. It is brilliant and very smart and cleans out well. Here is a video of it:- the material can be tinted to any colour. Black is standard colour R
  16. what was the net result on this job? Is all working fine? R
  17. Couple of nice pieces there but wont say which ones I like;) R
  18. Gents, please, give it a rest. The various sides have made their cases and all can read it all over again now. Drop it, its getting stale and boring now. R
  19. What a grand job, really impressed, why? Because we have the older MJ Bedford CALM. Your looks very nice. I'm just a bit curious, as to why for shows you don't remove the civvy plates and show the original military registration? I see you have a locker on the rear deck, is that all your fettling kit? Not afraid that someone will nick it? Once again, grand job. Robin
  20. why are the track end connectors painted all pretty on one side and not the other? R
  21. Just be aware, there can be some issues when mixing LED lighting with normal type. Not sure exactly what they are but will ask my mechanic on Monday. We went down this road a while ago for some reason that I have now forgotten. R
  22. There you go, knocking me for the wrong flipping name, "hey its one of them WW2 thingies" is what I will put next time, not my sphere of interest. R
  23. I was reading a write up on an M2 half track from the UK recently and was interested to hear about the issues the owner had with Ethanol in Petrol and how it rotted his fuel bladder. Seeing as how the gun tanks of the CVR(T) range all have a similar bladder arrrangement I would be interested to hear what CVR(T) owners think or have experienced R
  24. Considering the power of the recovery vehicle its surprising how much grunt it needs to move it without tracks
