  1. I've got a series of resistance readings for the various connector pins. I'll try scan them up tonight.
  2. There is a little bit of coverage of Rectifier Unit No.1 Mk 1 here: file:///C:/Users/Admin/AppData/Local/Temp/59e870de909ac_ALLCHARGEDUPPart2.pdf I'll see what the EMER POWER has to offer: W 124/2 Rectifier Unit, No 1 Mk 1 FV342588, Field & Base Repairs. Jun.1978 W 128/2 Rectifier Unit, No 1 Mk 1 FV342588.Part 2. Inspection Standard. Aug.1976
  3. Well there is even a white car in Braveheart.
  4. I can't remember the title but there was a docu-drama about 35 years on the events in N.Ireland in August 1969. So we have two RUC Shorlands painted grey. They were never grey, they were green as these vehicles were the replacements for Dingos in rural patrols by the RUC Reserve Force. The Shorland on the left is a Mk 3 that didn't exist in 1969 & not a MK 1, but I forgive them that as there were only two surviving RUC Shorlands. The one on the right is ex-RUC & I owned the other. There was also an Army Humber Pig in the film but that was a Mk 2, there were no Mk 2 Pigs in 1969.
  5. A French film "The Blue Bicycle" shows the Wehrmacht equipped with a 1956 Humber Pig prototype FV1609.
  6. The film "71" depicting Belfast in 1971 shows a grey Mk 2 RUC Humber Pig RUC Pigs had not been painted grey. They were green as they were deployed for rural patrols, not riot control. In 1971 the RUC had no Humber Pigs, they had been transferred to the Army & taken on census with ERMs in the 27BT** series. In 1971 there were no Mk 2 Pigs, even so the wing mirror position shown was a mod introduced in 1977. All RUC vehicles carried Belfast registrations, not Londonderry. .
  7. In this 1999 catalogue I could find no reference to SCRA(T) as such but AC No. 63625 covers SCRA Terminal Equipment in TUM FFR Interim Installation. There are also Terminal publications that cover TUL FFR & 1/2 Ton FFR. Of the many other references to SCRA in TUM these cover specific Clansman equipments.
  8. I can find no specific installation instructions in 2320-D-122-811 Mods, -411 Installation Instrs, -821 Gen Instrs Army Code No.12123 Part 1 Section 5 Communication Installations lists 46 User Handbooks in relation to TUM with SCRA. Did you have a particular designation of equipment in mind & is (T) Teleprinter?
  9. Shorlands when in police service were still required to display their taxation status. This was the tax disc I displayed on my Shorland indicating it's Taxation Class when it was in police service.
  10. Last year I bought several NOS heavy duty 3m x 3m canvas tarpaulins from Jacksons. Properly made in 1953 to old fashion standards.
  11. Sorry not quite what you wanted but what I had to hand.
  12. Semi-gloss was only specified for ammunition paint, but there were no brown shades available for that purpose. Catalogue of Army Ordnance Stores Section H1(a) Paints, dopes & varnishes 1980 lists Service Brown available as a General Service Paint which was gloss. There is no entry for any brown paint in War Equipment Paints. Although a high gloss finish was available for many Vehicle Paints including Service Brown, ammunition boxes had no entitlement to receive Vehicle Paint. Bear in mind most of the brown paint we see on ammunition boxes was applied by the manufacturer a long time ago and some of the gloss may have worn off. Any touching up or in extreme cases repainting would be done using a General Service Paint, Service Brown which was gloss.
  13. Just delivered today Catalogue of British Official Publications Not Published by HMSO. These are usually priced for around £150 which is ridiculous, got this one for £5.58 including delivery on a Sunday considering it weighs 2.5kg, I think I got a bargain. The MOD section include a lot of News Releases & scientific publications relating to defence. I have catalogues of HMG HMSO publications from 1894 to 1984, but can't afford to build up the same for non-HMSO publications!
  14. If you want off the shelf, a very close match is "Conker" . I can't remember the brand but I patch painted some boxes (to preserve the original stencilling) & it blended in pretty well.
  15. I think you will find it is Service Brown BSC 499 5 litre can 8010-99-942-7942
  16. NSC 2510 - Vehicular Cab, Body & Frame Structural Components NSC 2910 - Engine Fuel System Components, Non-Aircraft
  17. Greg although I can't answer the detail of your question the page below might give a flavour of things after the shake up in callsigns wef 1/5/70 as published in DCI (Army) 17/1970 it includes a couple of the callsigns you mentioned.
  18. Military Clark SQTF10 in working order including integral hand pump & locking base. I have owned this from new for 3-4 years, regularly lubricated with only silicone grease to maintain the seals as advised by manufacturer. Happy to demonstrate it in smooth operation. 19. Dave I see I have EMER POWER C 420/5 - 424/5 in microfiche. That is Data Summary, Technical Description & Repairs. If that is of interest, I'll check them out & confirm exactly what I have actually got. I have some uncatalogued microfiche packs & will see if I have any of the others. But before I hunt please let me know if fiche is ok with you?
  20. Signs of old paintwork & marks where it has been aggressively rubbed down. So DBG may not be the original colour.
  21. 28 YD 15 was sold in a batch 12 motorcycles as Lot No.1185 Sale No.60 on the 4th day of the sale being 22/9/61 If my arithmetic is correct that day a total 408 of your model were sold.
  22. I have quite a few Ruddington catalogues, sometimes they were annotated by a particular dealer to indicate the price paid & occasionally indications of inter-dealer transactions. If you have the ERM I should be able to find the date of sale & lot number. Bear in mind that the date of sale could be up to 6 months after it was struck off census. I have a couple of auctioneer's catalogue which contain additional pages for recording the price paid, I'm not sure if the seller was recorded in them. About 8 years ago I spoke to one of the auctioneers who seemed to indicate that there wasn't much in the way of records remaining, with him anyway.
  23. If it has a Vehicle/Asset Code or ERM that would identify it. Can you post a picture of the contract plate?
