I've searched everywhere online for details of how these go together but they don't seem to have made it into anyone's list of supported equipment. This is kind of a last ditch attempt to get advice from anyone who might know about them before I have a complete mental breakdown holding aluminium tubes and connectors! i put what I thought was an unsuccessful bid in on the Witham MOD Sales auction site, my bid didn't reach the reserve price so I forgot about it. Then the auctioneer dropped the reserve to my bid and I ended up having to pay for them. I am now the proud owner of 4 unissued closed command 8x8 foot canvas shelters with no frames, and a stillage containing 72 tent poles, two large water containers and an issued and "complete" tent and frame set that has so far defied my attempts to assemble into a useable shelter. I'm usually pretty good at puzzles but the bits of frame I've got will not go together in any recognisable way that I can decipher. I've pretty much come to the conclusion that I've only actually got part of the set that I would need. So, would anyone on here have a clue where I can get a instruction book or assembly instructions for a frame tent that seems to have three of everything and is sending me Bat-**** crazy? I'm going for a lie down in a darkened room! Eric

Can anyone help me finding a larger British WWII tent? (f.e. A British Army 160 lb tent) Does anyone also know a way to repair canvas? Is there something like a merchant who does this? I did already fix it by sticking a piece of canvas several times but this thing is becomming a rags sieve. Is it a good idea to steam it to clean it? And finaly, is there a way (product, treatment) to make the canvas stronger again? Thanks a lot guys ...

Looking for some replacement tilt webbing for land rover hoods... probably more than exmoor or similar co. would be happy to supply me with as i am manufacturing Fire Water Rot Proof Non Shrink Hoods and have run down my old supply of heavy duty natural webbing - old supplier seems to have vanished. The webbing is 25mm, looks like rope edge and is of course that lovely orange-beige colour.... god knows why but being repro.. i'd want to keep the colours and weave as close as possible to original land rover hood webbing colour. My Hoods are made out plain weave POLY COTTON FWR Fire Water Rot proof long life canvas and hoods are NON SHRINK yet breathable. Any suggestions on the webbing / strapping would be greatly appreciated. Kindest. Matt ) Sussex info@moorcroftengineering.com

question Thoughts On Whether To Strip Down For The Winter
Vulture posted a topic in American Vehicles
Guys A question for those less fortunate souls like myself who have to keep their vehicle outside. With the bad weather encroaching upon us here in the UK, should I keep the canvas on the cargo body on my CCKW 352 over the winter, or should I back strip the body down to just the bare structure (removing canvas, ribbing and wooden sides/seating) ? (I have an old tent that completely covers the cab so I don't have a problem there)Your experience and thoughts would be appreciated. Kind regards to all Ian (aka Vulture)- 10 replies
