  1. What's this all about? These are actually two things. The second thing would only be seen with the first thing although the first thing might be seen without the second thing.
  2. Thank you that will be very welcome. Two years ago with a wifi sniffer app I tracked down a free wifi source in the trade stands. Nobody would admit to owning it although I could log in it didn't seem to have an internet connection going from it
  3. Good man! You have ample references now to defend your right to a brown one when you are ticked off by a critic in brown can denial :-D
  4. Alastair that seems like a step in the right direction although it still looks as if we are still without a forum.
  5. David don't worry I can read it ok, just needs quite a bit of zooming & its all there :-D
  6. I was next to you when you bought it. :-D It is very similar to a wartime Tabby light I have but mine has only one clamping point rather than the three on yours. The VAOS prefix LV6/MT3 shows it is a MT electrical item & it would be common to more than one type of vehicle. LU is of course the VAOS code for Lucas. It clearly predates NATO codification & is not in my VAOS LV6/MT3 dated 1943. So I would guess it something from the 1950s-60s.
  7. More evidence for the use of brown jerricans this time from the RAMC.
  8. Just got back. The Shorland struggled up some of the hills but all back safe & sound. Despite the wind, a very enjoyable weekend. Many thanks Paul to you & your team for the work in planning & implementing the plans with a high standard of safety awareness, which was good to see. Glad I made the effort to go, relieved the rain pretty much held off.
  9. Crossland 432 is correct & matches Tecalemit FA2688 Toby are you sure 13BK37 is correct? 13BK37 was a Mk 1 struck off in BAOR on 9/10/68 & there is no evidence it was one of the 200 recovered in 1972. What is the serial number or registration on the chassis plate itself? Does your clutch pedal go fully down? If it does & it won't shift into gear sounds as if the clutch linkage chain has broken. Although being a Mk 2 it was probably replaced by a linkage that may even be partially welded at the ends that may have failed.
  10. Alec despite what it says on the main plate 2905-0789 is the Asset Code. This equates to NSN 2330-99-893-4456 Publications (seem to start in 1977): CES Simple Army Code No 31152 Maintenance Schedule Army Code No 13791 IPC Army Code No 61663 UHB Army Code No 61661 EMER WHEELED VEHICLES U210/8 - U219/8
  11. Well they look like parenchyma cells if I remember my botany correctly?
  12. Yes I was thinking beehives, Bernard. In one Indian Army manual it describes how the by-product was even used in the construction of roads. :nut: From the 'nut' similey brings me on to suggest that the product being processed in your contrivance might be nuts or something similar?
  13. Many thanks to all for organising another successful show. I expect clearing up & decommissioning the site will go on for a good few days yet. This was the only vehicle I took any pictures of, but it was rather tucked away.
  14. Is this for when its come out of the 'incinerator'?
  15. Andy bring your camera I have brought that EMER
  16. Will be easy to check as I have a DC clamp ammeter. BTW I can be found in the only Pig.
  17. Arrived on site sitting in the sunshine now. If anyone has any ignition (screened or unscreened) components that need testing I have range of test equipment with me. Can test coils, capacitors, rotor arms, sparking plugs etc
  18. I suspect it was once used as Truck 1-Ton Charging Signals. You can see the general set up on pages 10 & 11 of this: http://www.hmvf.co.uk/pdf/SHELTERS.pdf Have you got a picture of the CAV plate & some more distant pictures to identify the positions of those items? User Trials were undertaken by SRDE Christchurch in comparing two different chargers the Westalite Type 1546 & the STC Model 22FLEE.2527A.
