  1. Hi, any Bedford owners looking for a side tent that goes with a comms body? See my post in the classified section of the forum
  2. Hi does anyone have a service manual for a MK II Sankey Wide Track 3/4 ton trailer. I need to know how to adjust the rod operated drum brakes. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Regards, Geoff
  3. Hi Clive, any chance that you can let me have a scanned copy or a photocopy. How much would a photocopy cost? PM me with answers. Regards Geoff
  4. Hi, does anyone have a copy of AESP 2320-D-122-811, Modification Instruction No 3. I want to fit the wing reinforcement kit on my 1988 TUM GS Soft Top (Land Rover 110 2.5L NA Diesel). Any guidance would be welcome if you don't have the official instructions. Many Thanks Golf Hotel Whiskey. 42 KF 74
  5. Stumped again! Thought that it would be a simple job to fit an antenna bracket to the side of my 110 TUM GS ST. Have the bracket (5985-99-637-0810) specified in the fitting instructions (Army Code No 61590, Part 7, Supp 5, 2ed) and there are holes where a previously fitted bracket has been removed. However they don't line up with the holes in the bracket and neither the holes in the bracket nor the holes in the land rover comply with the drilling instructions in the above handbook. Also the bracket is too long and overlaps the door to the jerry can compartments. So I will have to carry out some "unauthorised" modifications to the brackets. Does anybody have a TUM GS Soft Top with a bracket already fitted? If so please can you tell me the distance from the top of the jerry can door and the bottom edge of the bracket. Anybody know whether there are some official documents covering this mod?
  6. Thanks for your replies. Wolfy, any chance of emailing me a scanned copy if you have a copy of the fitting instructions? I know that I am fitting a kit that wasn't intended for the TUM GS but it would certainly help to make the Defender more comfortable. Warmer in cold weather and cooler if an when it gets hot. Initially, I could not understand why a radhaz kit was required for a hardtop Wolf until I learned that the Wolf body is fibreglass and does not provide any rf screening. However, I would have thought that rf screening for any LR with a soft top would be a good idea.
  7. Hi, I bought a Radhaz kit last year and am just getting around to fitting it in my 1988 TUM GS Soft Top. I have the bag with the fitting hardware but I am not certain where the "tophat" spacers and pop rivets are used. The kit comes without fitting instructions, which I suspect are contained in an Army handbook or supplement. Does anyone know where I can find the fitting instructions for the radhaz kit?

  9. Thanks to all who have responded. I tried to buy the "clamp on" bracket a couple of times on eBay but was outbid on both occasions. I have decided on the alternative solution used by Robin G0GNE although this is not the normal Land Rover solution. Does anyone know what vehicle normally used "Mast base swivel assy - FV2051736"?
  10. I second Iain's comments; nice to have radio enthusiasts on here. Regards Geoff 2E0WKT
  11. Santa arrived early and there was a 12m Racal lightweight 1486-000 mast complete with accessory kit on his sledge. :cheesy: I have a scanned copy of the user handbook but some pages are missing. Does anybody have a spare original handbook that they would like to sell or can scan and email me a copy thereof? Also, what accessories are needed to mount this mast on a Land Rover 110 GS (TUM)? Does anybody have instructions for such an installation or any of the necessary brackets? Wishing you all a Merry Xmas, Geoff 2E0WKT golfhotelwhiskey 1988 Truck Utility Medium 12V GS
  12. 2E0WKT - Got my foundation licence in January 2012 and intermediate in May 2012. Hoping to complete the trio by end of the year. :-D A member of RSARS (No 4160). Just got a PRC320 Manpack but need to source a battery. Witham Specilaist Vehicles at Grantham (http://www.mod-sales.com) have a large number of unused Clansman Batteries (four large boxes) in their current tender sale and I would be tempted to put in a tender if I had somewhere to store them. Should we start a co-operative? Regards Golfhotelwhisky (2E0WKT)
  13. Hi, my name is Geoffrey (Geoff for short) and I live in Farnborough, just down the road from Aldershot. I joined this forum because I have just bought an ex-mod Land Rover Defender 110, registration no 42 KF 74. It has a naturally aspirated 2.5-litre diesel engine and is a soft top. It is fitted with Wolf wheels. I haven't received the 654 rekease certificate yet so I don't know the first year of service but I suspect that it was 1985 or 1986. Does anyone have any clues on the age? Is it possible to find out any info about the service history of this vehicle? I know very little about these vehicles; it was an impulse buy and I would appreciate any info or advice that can be provided. There were two non-taskworthy laminated signs in the cab bearing the crest of the RLC and badge of 27th Regiment. I don't know whether this is because it was just in the transport pool before being sold or whether it was a vehicle that had been issued to the 27th Regiment. One of the signs bears the following remark: CSIB on 20/2/12. Does anyone know what that means? I hope that some members of this forum will be able to help me with the info that I will need to get this vehicle on the road. golfhotelwhiskey dahdidit dit dahdahdit didididit didahdah
