  1. Is it GAMMA? I suspect it’s a Suzuki piston, the 70.5 being .5mm over size of the standard 70mm.
  2. They are quite complicated and with a limited market I expect a replica to be next to impossible to find. I have an original 1917a1 and tripod if you need some reference dimensions to have a go your self. There’s also an eBayer in Greece selling original T&E etc. Which may make things easier.
  3. Did the headlamp have any gas paint? Domed glass CZ27 ammeter with illumination slot? and any black/dulled areas to the bottom 1/2 of the reflector that may have worked in tandem with a Manila mask? ref the nuts, I have seen a dull nickel type finish on the nuts of the long studs that go through the crank case with black oxide type finish on the outer edge nuts. The nuts also tend to be chamfered on early bikes and flat on later bikes. The early engine (222 I think) had screws for the timing cover which were only found on these earlier models.
  4. Hopefully that number can be kept as is or reapplied in the same way. Amazing find and in amazing condition, obviously not ragged to death as most of the barn find WDs we see.
  5. Nice one Ron, the census number nicely ties in with the frame number.
  6. Oh and does it have the census number stamped into the crank case?
  7. Has it still got the rear ally brake plate without torque link extension?
  8. That’s really nice, every early feature I can think of is there. And it doesnt look to have been abused!
  9. I agree, Sounds about right. I paid £6000 for my March 42 GPW. It needs a new front and rear floor and I’ve sourced about 90% of the correct VEP parts and I hope next summer to start on the tub. I’ve been waiting on Joes Motor Pool to finalise production of their front floor before I begin (they say they will begin soon). Oh and it was a non runner.
  10. You’ll be hard pressed to find a Jeep without rust unless it’s been restored in the last 20 odd years. It looks like a good project dependent on price. If it needs new floors but runs I’d expect to pay about £10,000 if it’s £15,000 to £20,000 the seller is having a laugh.
  11. It does have the Ford script, I think there’s just lots of filler covering all the holes.
  12. I’ve just seen something a little concerning. The Right frame horn is either a poor replacement or has had a section removed. It should be finished at an angle and pretty much into the bumper. It is much shorter and daylight can be seen through it. It could be something, it could be nothing.
  13. Looks like a April to Aug 42 ford script GPW, if you loose the ammo cans it looks good.
  14. I've dealt with Manroy before. For a business, they are more than happy to talk to individuals which surprised me. Mike Priest used to do deac M2s but since the EU law came in I think the market has dropped out for most MGs. Replicas are cheaper but you then get into the realms of the RIF and that's another set of laws to navigate.
  15. AFAIK, it didn't have to be with the number but just near to it. There's probably a specific place on each vehicle. It sure is an interesting photograph.
  16. Is the S not just a suppression fitted/tested vehicle?
  17. What a shame but I'm glad some of the bikes will be sold for charity.
  18. I don't see any additional info but if the gun comes with the carrier then they are going to have to make sure it is to the new EU standard or they could be in deep do do.
  19. Some info which maybe of use- http://www.gasturbineworld.co.uk/garrettgasturbines.html https://aerospace.honeywell.com/en/product-listing/auxiliary-power-units
  20. Unless your desperate to keep that back panel, I'd be tempted to just put a joes Motor Pool replacement in. It looks like the bottom edge may have rotted out too. The 2 coin sized holes with 3 holes around them are interesting as they do look well done but I've never seen them before. The one on the left would likely interfere with the jerry can so doubt its from its military service. It looks like something may have passed through the holes so are there any other odd but similar holes in any other panels?
  21. I wonder if they include the Bren in the sale of the carrier????
  22. You'd have to make it orange or blue, or at least to start with as there are laws on making a RIF under the VCR act (At least I think there is).
  23. That would be the SF Hydro, there is still a British/Norwegian exercise in Norway conducted in memorial of the heros of Telemark.
  24. I'm not a Petrochemical expert but I was told that petrol and diesel is a part of the cracking process of oil. From that oil we get plastics, paints and all sorts of other stuff that we don't even think about. We will still need all our other products so does this mean that the advent of EVs will also see a new petrol and diesel mountain?
