A130 halfway between A127 and A12. If you find Southend on your atlas and look for the A127 trunk road to London (or for that matter the A13) you will see the A130 going north towards Chelmsford. Battlesbridge is just before Rettendon on the map going north as you follow it. There is a large mill there which is now an antiques centre, as described, and the Plough and Sail pub. Battlesbridge is actually reached off the OLD A130, but look at a map and it will all make sense. I was there last weekend and I like the place.

Yep. If you visit, ask to see the bikes that belonged to the late Vic Taylor. I visited his house after he passed away, he kept seven or more on a pristine white carpet in his lounge. He was an amazing engineer. He had been a draughtsman for Lesley Brothers and had drawings and prototypes of the Matchbox range in the house in addition to his own model railway engines. He used to take the old clockwork Hornby things and add all the plumbing, and so on, in brass. Amazing. I have no idea what the family did with it all.

Got to miss this I'm afraid!!

Due to the mess of things the <censoreds> in power have made of the economy my work is now entering the levels of unobtainium - mainly because al the firms who employed Oracle DBA's in the UK are merrily shipping the work out to India to try and cut operating costs.

So - due to lack of money resulting from unemployment we've had to hand our touring caravan back to the dealers to sell for us and the F-250 has to go back to tthe specialist dealer we got it from tomorrow for the same purpose as we can't afford to run it.. Reason we've had to lose the van as well is that my lovely "friends" in VOSA demand that a 2.5m wide caravan owned in the UK has to be pulled by a vehicle plated more than 3501 Kg.

Bang goes the family holidays for the forseeable fute unless I can get them to attend W&P with me...... :-(

Good turnout of stalls for the first fair, plenty of public & 3 cafes to choose from... plus dozens of antique shops & a pub... this fair has great potential, just what we need in this part of Essex...

The Market has changed to a saturday now and is in a field where the car show is held at the back of the Antique centre. I have nothing to do with the market. I have put up his poster so as to stop people turning up on the wrong day. I have spoken to Lee [ the market one, not our Lee safariswing] so he knows i have put this up.

Keith.
