Kuno
Colleagues; these days I had seen "Sole Survivor" and american TV-movie related to the fate of the "Lady be Good", the B.24 which went lost in the desert of Libya. Anyhow - the investigation team in the movie was driving two Austin Champs (beside two US vehicles). Since the movie was definitely filmed in the US, I would ask the question if the Champ was also available across the Atlantic, maybe even with the US Army? Great War truck
I saw one for sale on E bay in the USA a while back. I wonder if it was one of the same ones. Tim (too)
sirhc
There were several in a scrap yard over there, I think they went over as deck cargo on ships in the 60s.
Kuno
I mean; it was ok that they used them for the movie snce the story played in Libya - which saw presence of the British Forces then (and the movie-expedition was lead by a "typical British ;-))

antar
There were several in a scrap yard over there, I think they went over as deck cargo on ships in the 60s. Yes, They were in Sam Wieners, Akron, Ohio. I have visited the yard on a number of occasions in the past, but can confirm that there were no useable parts. Sam gave me a guided tour and told me he bought 50 from a british dealer (he could not remember who) and had them shipped out via Rotterdam as deck / hold cargo. John. Kuno
Maybe they have even used those two particular vehicles? Will try to take some screenshots with my digicam these days.
