Jessie The Jeep
Can anyone tell me what tanks the US Army was using in the mid 1960's, and post any pics if you have some??? Thanks Steve
Rlangham
There would have been the M47, M48 and M60, might have been some M46's but not sure. See here for info about em http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Patton_tank

steveo578
Also M103, M41 walker bulldog,m24 probably out of service by 1960. M46 Patton although obsolete by OCM in 1957 was to be retained in Korea until 1963, must have been a regulation thought up for the armastice talk- 10years from start of cease fire. Photo by Alan Turner must show a Us M48 sample in British hands 02BB33 and British uniforms, perhaps the early M48 still at Bovington? antarmike
any comments re this from RAWHS A lot of people trying to found out where the dripping oil is coming from?
alan turner (RIP)
Ah the oil could have been from either the Centurion or Conqueror that went over the bridge as well. David Fletcher feels that it is theirs in its original colours.
agripper
Looks like there arfe assessing the ability of the bridge to take the different types of tanks.
steveo578
looks like some sort of stress test on the bridge rather than a problem involving the tanks, otherwise the end of the bridge nearest the camera would not need to be supported by timber.
