They were taken at the Strawberry Farm. The gun is a German 88. The Sherman is not quite what it appears, it was a BARV and you could see where the superstructure had been gassed off, and a turret fitted. Believe it might have come from Pounds. Was there an Austin K6 Gantry when you went there?

Yep but no gantry on the back . It's all the World of heritage crap now. I've moaned at the owner about burying the bunkers. What did ever happen to them ?

Further to Richards comments about the Sherman, it was an M4A2, Sherman III before being converted to a BARV. Sold by Pounds and 'converted' back to a gun tank with an incorrect 76mm turret placed on the hull.

It has more recently been more properly restored with a correct 75mm turret and was at Beltring sporting a new paintjob.

Was that the US Sherman with cammo a bit like Mickey Mouse?? Shady of 2nd Armoured was telling us that specific cammo was used by a specific US armoured regiment. It looked lovely. My pictures of it are distinctly average in quality...if not worse.

Anyone know where the gun went? There were few 88 flak guns mounted in Jersey. 4 were at a place called Les Gillietes above HO8 , the Underground Hospital.
