Guest bigredone
Hi all Sorry I am not mechanically minded........Help required. I have two 12 Volt batteries in my Hotchkiss....I think they are knackered as the Jeep will not start. The lights work ok as does the BC-1306 radio set. Have tried to charge and jump them but that does not seem to work, although it did last time? Going to try the starting handle out some time this week. Anyway, anyone know where I can get hold of a couple of new batteries (Hampshire area). Do normal battery shops stock Jeep ones or are they a special shape to be got from a dedicated supplier???? Degsy
Look in yellow pages under Car Electrics for your local wholesaler, they should be able to supply you at a good price. Cheers Degsy
commander
Hi , first of all get the batteries checked at a garage to see if you need 2 batteries, but first you need to take them off and charge them both for at least 12 hours before you take them or you get a false reading then what exactly are the symptons does it turn over or does it make a clicking sound or does it just do nothing give a bit more information maybe we an trouble shoot for you Commander
Jessie The Jeep
Also check the earth and positive connections are good. If they aren't good, you can sometimes pull enough power for lights, but not the heavy amps required to start. Steve
