N.O.S.
Yes, excellent thread, and thanks for the effort, Mike. Good that a fair few have been preserved in their "after-life" clothing. Edited June 7, 2008 by N.O.S.

TooTallMike
Yes, many thanks for a superb thread. You've inspired me to want a timber Mat now. As NOS says, they look best as a bare chassis and simple crane don't they! - Mike

antarmike
In the days when I had a timber rigged Matador, I used to take this stick around as part of a load on my pole trailer. I used it for timber loading demos for a couple of years, when I first had it I couldn't lift it but when it had dried for a couple of years it was right on the maximum of my lift, but my Mat could do it, (it was hairy right at the top of the jib! The safety officer would like you doing that now without lots of orange netting!!! Edited June 11, 2008 by antarmike

antarmike
I once lifted a BTD6 Crawler with the heavy cast rad guard with this Mat when it's final drive exploded. It took another big bloke and his dog in the cab with me to get that one off the ground so the owner could back a trailer under it!
LeeEnfield
I once lifted a BTD6 Crawler with the heavy cast rad guard with this Mat when it's final drive exploded. It took another big bloke and his dog in the cab with me to get that one off the ground so the owner could back a trailer under it! Just goes to show, what amazing beast's Matadors are..........:-D (and why they are held in great affection by all who still use them,....and those who hanker after them.......)
