weasel_nut
Greetings All, I have recently purchased an M-5 High Speed Tractor to restore. Basically a good restoration candidate. Was a Daimler-Benz rebuild in 1956 and then assigned to the US 3rd Infantry, 41st Field Artillery in Germany for the remainder of the late 50's. Was brought back to the states by someone. And after sitting I now have it. Motor is locked but it comes with a NOS engine on a pallet. Looking for parts sources in Europe. Anyone have any suggestions? Here is a picture of the M-5 on my trailer upon our arrival. Joris
There was an M5 listed on ebay yesterday but the acution has ended now. It was $3500 (buy it now) but it was in terrible condition. Seller had another M5 in spares for sale too. I can check my browser history at home if you are interested, link to the auction should be in there somewhere. I wish I could get me one someday... antar
I visited Sam Weiner's in AKRON, OHIO about 5 years ago and there were rows of partly disassembled tractors parked up defiantly worth a call.

weasel_nut
Thank you all for your help. I desparately need a road wheel (solid) and a muffler. I am sure there will be other stuff too. Joris, I saw the auction. Unfortunately he is keeping the road wheels and does not have a good muffler. Thanks for going back and getting the link. John, I was at Winers 4 or 5 years ago too. As I remember most were M-6 HST's which are very different than the M-5. The person to talk to at Winers has not been around and is expected back shortly. I will call him again...Looks like it could be a road trip to Ohio Thanks again all, Bill The new powerplant http://www.cckw.org/images/m5_engine_1l.jpg[/img] Pictures from this morning http://www.cckw.org/images/m5_in_snow_2l.jpg[/img] http://www.cckw.org/images/m5_in_snow_1l.jpg[/img]
