N.O.S.
"The detail on this range of Accurate Armour HELIOPS kits is truly amazing - just a shame the drain plug is integral with the axle case moulding, rather than being a separate removeable item"
Markheliops
Umm - The funny thing is I actually thought I would be able to lift the diff carrier. :shake: Believe me - looks lighter than it is.
abn deuce
What would you estimate it's weight to be? Did you have to do a bit of persuading or did it lift the axle before coming free?
Markheliops
The axle lifted off the ground - countless times. The trick is it has to come off dead straight and clear the axle before it can release - bit hard when you are on your own and using a crane to lift. In the end, I kept the cable under tension and used my size 9 boot to gently persuaded it to come free of the axle casing. Not sure of the weight of the diff carrier but the weight of the rear axle without wheels is 3500 lbs. Markheliops
abn deuce
Now thats some weight the two axles by them selves weigh then about the same as a complete SUV like Land Rover , huh ? You have done a lot having to do this last part single handed . That crane system isn't easy to creep it is it ? its gear and clutch not hydraulic right ?
