Mark
Hi All When I stripped my jeep down I found pieces of rubber between the tub and chassis, these are approximately 1/4" thick, now why do they put these in and are they really necessary ? Thanks
sirhc
They stop the chassis from rubbing a hole through the tub, and absorb any vibrations etc. I'd put them back in if I were you! Chris
woa2
When I stripped down my Ford WOA2 I found pieces of Cork gasket between the body and chassis. I did replace them with new ones.
Mark
Cheers I do not intend to put the tub back without these just wondered the reason behind them, makes sense.

Mark
Getting back on topic, is there any set size/thickness for these bits of rubber and how many there should be, and where they are placed along the chassis. Thanks
