Help Wanted - What Military Vehicles were fitted with CAV Switch Board Type 186-1 ?

Recommended Posts

I have a 1941 Leyland BeaverTSC18 lorry originally operated by Leyland Motors.  Only 200 were built, 25 of which were WW2 100' Turntable Ladder Fire Engines.  According to the wiring diagram it was originally fitted with a Simms Type AL2 Combined Switchboard and Control board.

It is currently fitted with a CAV Type 186-1 Switch Board (Compensated Voltage Control System) which has suffered water damage and unwanted tinkering with the regulator settings.

I have managed to pick up a new boxed replacement CAV Type 186-1 Switch Board from PA Blanchard's which was supplied new to the military by CAV in March 1953 under Contract 6/VEH/1195 according to the label on the box.

I am hoping someone on the forum can identify what military vehicle or vehicles these were fitted to, and hopefully supply a wiring diagram of the external connections.

Thanks in anticipation.
