Royal42
It is a Chinese armoured car captured by the Japanese in 1938 during the second Sino Japanese war. Any idea what the original vehicle was converted from? Thanks, Mike
MatchFuzee
Not an identical armoured car but it maybe a possibility. Model 1930 armored cars were based on the chassis of 3-ton or 4-ton Stewart trucks:- https://tanks-encyclopedia.com/shanghai-arsenal-armored-car-model-1929/ https://forum.axishistory.com/viewtopic.php?t=164147
Royal42
Thanks MF, those links are very interesting. I note that one suggestion is that it could be a GMC vehicle, based on the type of wheel hubs in the photos. Can anyone help further with this please? cheers, Mike
Citroman
The front wheel looks very much like that of a 1929 GMC truck, but i can't find any picture of a six wheel GMC prior to the famous wartime model. But these have other wheels. But in the 30s there were lots of firms that converted 4 wheel trucks to sixwheelers.
