Hydraulic oil for Atlas Crane

Hi all, anybody know the correct hydraulic oil to use in an Atlas crane on a Militant?  If my memory is still good we used to use OM33 for most plant hydraulics, back in the day, but what is a civilian equivalent?

There was quite an extensive discussion on the subject in answer to a similar question from simon stolly about oil for a Foden FH70, A few years ago. I think it came down to mainly what oil is easily available in the  area. A spec will be available from Terex formerly Atlas. I have found the item under Atlas Crane Hydraulic Fluid from 2009.  There is a contribution from Richard Farrant, civy spec ISO32.

Rob,

OM33 is bog standard hydraulic oil.  I am sure that the crane will be very unfussy and I would not lose any sleep over it.

Thanks for the replies, gents. I've got 25lts of Ultramax 46. Local plant company  reckons that would do, as much the same spec as 32 Just wanted a second opinion or two

Hi, I use a group two based iso 15 such as HLP 15

Yes, but the Atlas doesn't work because some fool left a pipe undone and it chucked all it's oil out

I found essential's when on tankers or crane truck, a 2/3 gallon bucket with a lid. One she who must be obeyed makes you go out and buy with paint in, when its empty is good. Also a spill kit and an adjustable.
