Did they build ambulance bodies on the Renault AX taxi in WW1 ?

Hello, I have tried on other sites, but not found an answer.

I have a scale model construction kit of the Renault AX taxi, some times known as the Taxi de la Marne.

I would like to know if they at the time, World War One, build ambulance bodies on these vehicles.

Any help would be much appreciated.
