abn deuce
Lets see now , Great photograph's each and every one , Your quite right to keep the roll cage !!!Does it have rear steering or? I can understand it being a handful at anything above 20 mph that case. Do you have a garage for all your vehicles? with two beasts that size the Antar (or is it more correct to call it a Mighty Antar ? ) and the Scammell you would need a good sized industrial Building !!! I take it She's enjoys having such a Large vehicle of her own !

LeeEnfield
COR,............ :-D Brilliant Pic's, of some amazing vehicles............... Antar pics are V.Good, but for me, the Scammell pic is THE ONE. :-D :-D Thanks. Andy

abn deuce
Yikes that was a close call !!! From the looks of the trailer and Scammell it must be 12 feet tall or so ? Your quite forgiven for the civilian Vehicle , Thats a very interesting looking rig all by its self !
Bodge Deep
Thats one hell of a truck... I used to have a Dinky one with a Cheiftan on the back when i was little... Whose is the flight control trailer in the fire photo?
antarmike
Mine, I was towing it behind everything else, but it is not what it seems . The Chassis is from an Army "Mobile Bakery trailer" and the body was from a Brockhouse ackerman steering "Binned stores" trailer. The two have been married together to make my rally home. Bodge Deep
Looks good. Any pics? I'm looking to build a flying control trailer soon to go behind the truck. The office box trailers looked a little too big though (live at the top of a narrow valley with many overhanging trees!). I was looking at a single axle affair
antarmike
Scammell on the trailer is 15' 0" tall. It means I have to watch bridge heights as well as weights.

Tony B
yes, there was a decrepit old one used as forestry truck on a place I worked, poor old thing eventually just broke beyond repair, but it was a lot of fun.
N.O.S.
Any Matador fans out there? Oh yes  You'll have got a lot of folk excited with this shot! I imagine those softer tryes help a lot with traction :dunno: Welcome on board, great to see you are not afraid to work your toys hard - its what they were built to do. :-) Usually the new boys get their tyres let down on the first visit to the clubhouse, but in your case (Antar and Dyson) it would be just too much effort  Tony

Dakman
Bodge Deep, there was a single-axle flying control trailer at Rougham Airfield (Rougham Tower Association), at the rally there, weekend before last. Couldn't get close enough to "clock" it properly, but it looked "in period" and in good condition, AND doing the job it was designed for. antarmike
http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q208/antarmike/dorset2007059.jpg[/img] Loaded up and ready to leave for home GDSF2007 ( only 260 miles to go!) There were two Control Caravans at Newark Air museum, I think at least one was single axle. I'll see if I can find the piccys I took and post them sometime over the W/E

Degsy
Great pic of the Matador, I've done lots of recovery work but never done a pull like that. How much ballast do you use and what's the technique?
antarmike
No ballast, choose lowest gear and stay in it. and once you strt spinning wheels stop immediately to save the tyres.

antarmike
An Artic is limited to 15.9 metres, but a heavy locomotive towing multiple trailer can run at 25.9 metres, providing one of the trailers is less than 7 Metres. When running like this I am 25.850 metres. The Dyson follows a treat, and the rear trailer is a lot narrower so you can forget about that. The only problem is that reverse is out of the question so you always have to be able to move forward. Ie don't turn down dead ends or stop so close to a vehicle that you can't go round it should it choose that moment to break down. The other problem with running like this is I am about 66 tons and only 300 BHP gross.
