rupert condick Posted March 11, 2021 Share Posted March 11, 2021 Hi Alan, If you are lucky and the box came over post war it may have an MoS id plate fitted somewhere, for aussie records they use the engine number, but this as you would appreciate can be a long shot. the axle sounds a bit serious.is the wheel off in the picture? There was a property near Blackall that used to use Morris commercials. Most Austin Truck in that area were later models, 1960's etc. I'll have a look at the plates on the Humber when I get back up there. Alan. I took just about every measurement from my original body for a Canadian guy who converted them into proper drawings. I've also collected as much info as I can on the wireless set up. I will leave the PTO and dynamo in place and if somebody wants to restore it in the future it's always an option. The more I take it apart the more I think it was on the cusp of being scrapped, there's a lot of work, a lot of parts required, I'll get there but don't hold your breath it could take a while. (maybe) M4380025. Also for that engine number, Humber 4x4 imported from Japan to New Zealand, Waikato district 1988. Rootes received an enquiry from Ministry of Supply on 13th Feb. 1940, but the actual date of contract was 8th Jan. 1942.
