tjejwaugh Posted November 2, 2014 Share Posted November 2, 2014 Glad to be part of the site' I am from rural Queensland and my father and I are avid collectors of the light horse era my grandfather was e vet in the lighthorse before it was disbanded and then AIF for a short period and finished up as a captain in the airforce as a navigator Dad is part owner of a fully restored 1915 limber and we are now working on a 1916 Metro GS wagon So that is why I have joined so hopefully we can gain some more knowledge of the horse drawn transports Regards Tim Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

It also has a Metro makers plate on it. The serial No it is E115585. We have a set of blueprints obtained from the Australian War Memorial. Cobb + Co Posted November 3, 2014 Share Posted November 3, 2014 We are reasonably sure that these are English made due to the timber used. The undercarriage has oak & ash while the tray appears to be western red cedar. There were Australian makers but we haven't found any evidence of Metro making them here. The sérial number is E 115964, and on november 11 th it will take part of the day of the memory of the 1st world war. In France, I never saw similar wagon Metro GS, and you in Ausralia?
