sirhc
Keep getting these pop-ups with a really annoying womans voice, which I ignore and close, does any one else get them and if so where do they come from? This is probably caused my some malware on your pc. Do you have a virus scanner? It would be worth checking add/remove programs in control panel and removing anything that looks suspicious.
gritineye
Thanks Chris, protected with AV prog in place, just ran a malware scan and found a couple of dodgy things, that AV prog didn't find, hope that's fixed it!

Marmite!!
Nothing to do with the forum, scan your PC but not with one of the free editions as they don't catch everything

gritineye
2 x deep virus scans 2 x deep malware scans Check pop up blockers and settings etc. etc. It's still happening, and on other sites as well Found out it's not a pop up but a web page pretending to be a popup..just to give me the runaround...:banghead: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/pop-blocker-settings-exceptions-troubleshooting#w_pop-ups-not-being-blocked Then read this on a forum ======================================= Sounds like you've downloaded some adware, doesn't it? Any recent programs or toolbars added? If so you may be able to eliminate the popups by removing them. Anything new in the Start Menu that you may wish to disable? Try the following which are effective against some forms of adware. See: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/ AdwCleaner is a program that searches for and deletes Adware, Toolbars, Potentially Unwanted Programs (PUP), and browser Hijackers from your computer. By using AdwCleaner you can easily remove many of these types of programs for a better user experience on your computer and while browsing the web. The types of programs that AdwCleaner targets are typically bundled with free programs that you download from the web. In many cases when you download and install a program, the install will state that these programs will be installed along with the program you downloaded. Unless you perform a Custom install, these unwanted programs will automatically be installed on your computer leaving you with extra browser toolbars, adware, and other unwanted programs. AdwCleaner is designed to search for and remove these types of programs. ========================================== Used AdwCleaner to flush the pesky little critters out and delete them.. http://download.cnet.com/AdwCleaner/3000-7786_4-75851221.html There is a link in that program to install an anti PUP thingy in AdwCleaner, I did that too. http://www.malekal.com/2012/01/10/hosts-anti-pupsadware =============================================== Remembered that I had recently installed newer version of Paint.net, although I'm not pointing a finger, I also noticed I now had Bing tool bar installed without asking as well, I think this came in with a MS update. Tried twice to remove that using revo uninstaller which I have on my PC and has always worked with stubborn progs before http://www.revouninstaller.com/ Bing's icon still there in the prog list!!! but seems not to be working!!!. All seems OK for now, hope that's it now.... :computerrage: Jack... I do believe you...we've noticed over the years that writing computer code that works ain't your strong point.... :-D
