Hello everyone

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone , I am new to your site but have been reenacting for about ten years. I am in Manchester and in a group called North West Military Collectors group (http://northwestmilitarycollectors.moonfruit.com/) based in Bury Manchester. Great group of Lads (and ladies......sorry) Anyone out there who is in the Manchester and wants to join feel free to get in touch, lots of things going on this year so if you fancy being GI or German (or British) get in touch.

I have a Zundapp KS 750 and I will put some photos on the site (can someone tell me how to do that?) for those who don't know what this is, its a German 750cc motorbike and sidecar. Shaft drive to rear and sidecar wheel, via a locking differential. 4 high and 4 low gears plus reverse, hydraulic brakes, on 16'' wheels,Many were put on the Eastern front and in Rommel's Africa Korps, as the heavy bikes such as R12's would get stuck in the mud or sand, but Zundapps (as-well as BMW R75's)had all wheel drive. These were built only for the Whermact and some 18,000 were built between 1940/45 (allthough some 1946 ones were made after the war from spare parts) by Zundapp Werke Nurnberg. Only a small handfull of these now exist and mostly in Europe, However you can see them in the UK at shows like beltring every year.

My Zundapp is in restored condition after alot of work, hope you enjoy the photos when I get them onto the site.

Cheers, Simon

Wonderful introduction Simon and very nice to have you here. An amazing fact about all wheel drive....they thought of everything. Look forward to seeing your pictures.

Best wishes and make yourself at home.

Hi Simon.

Thats a great looking machine,.................sidecar outfits are GREAT; :-) esp those with driven sidecar wheel, 3x2............ :-D

Had the loan of the russian version,..........amazing where it would go, only really getting caught out when the ruts became too deep and the cylinders 'hung up',....still, it was then into REVERSE,..................now, that caused some amazement...........

From a fellow sj413 owner,...............

All the best,

Andy
