Buying a BRDM2...give me words of wisdom!

She was sent off for restoration about 2 weeks ago to a place back east in the US. Should be done by mid july.

 

Sad to see her gone :embarrassed:

 

So......Are you restoring it back to it's Iraqi service days or something else?

As close as I can with exceptions for practicality. The gaz41 engine and trans will get removed and replaced with a diesel and an auto transmission at some point in the future.

 

Does anyone know where I can get gaz41 head gaskets?

 

 

mine are bad :(

I hope you won't mind me asking, but do you know how much a BRDM-2 weighs empty and how much loaded (fuel etc)? Seeing as you had yours shipped I'm sure they've weighed it or so :)

 

Wikipedia says 7700kg but not if that's combat weight or empty weight..

My shipping weight was 16000 pounds.
