A The helmet cover looks a bit small but it must be a stretchy one.

Item E.........Horse? Nosebag, for feeding?

 

Item T smoking would help him relax maybe :| not sure they would be cigarettes in that period, pipes were the thing then for soldiers, going by pics of the time.......and I think they were often clay ones

 

As for helping soldiers nutrition? Forgotten whether knife fork spoon has been said yet, other than that I am lost.

Yes Richard you've obviously been eating brain nutrients over Christmas. Yes

 

E is a stable bag, I suppose for carrying accessories for the horse, brushes etc

T is box for carrying a clay pipe

 

Hint V they are square these days.

Yes Richard well done they are indeed mess tins, so that wraps it up. I won't prolong it by asking what C.T.C. stands for at the end of the bed roll. It isn't the soldier's initials, it is Commissariat & Transport Corps.

The Uk didn't declare war..

 

War was not declared by either side. The initial invasion was considered by Argentina as reoccupation of its own territory, and by Britain as an invasion of a British dependency. It is the most recent invasion of British territory by a foreign power.
