military Funeral 1889 ish

Is it definitely a funeral? the wagon looks like a small stores/baggage wagon and the formation looks more like a parade -perhaps before going off on an expedition or to war etc. The wagon would be draped in union flag and not as tall a tilt as one shown. The mounted officers etc have equipment attached to saddles which wouldn't normally be seen on parades and troops would be wearing black arm bands etc if a funeral.

Just my thoughts

(Tony B) The church at Westerham is St Mary's

To me it looks like a funeral but not sore now (thanks for input gazzaw )

quote from westerham page

(The only significant funeral I can find is Earl of Norbury who was buried in Westerham 2/1/1874 aged 63yrs. He lived at Valence)
